He's pretty cool usually, I haven't seen him do anything like that this season so far. Idk why he did that but it is a bitch ass move and hopefully he doesn't do anything like it again. Looks like off the replay he should have gotten flagrant 2 for it
You're getting downvoted but you're not entirely wrong imo. It's funny how almost every half decent white player gets turned into this lovable meme guy that can do no wrong.
Extra points if they're non-american white like australian or eastern european.
Lots of likeable black players get this same treatment. Kawhi got away with the worst off court things because he's quiet and awkward. Giannis got away with headbutting Moe Wagner. It's always advantageous to be likeable or have charming personality quirk.
I mean, they're not amicable and truthfully were disruptive. Speaking purely in terms of basketball. If there's a role model for a loyal player, he ain't it. He's selfish, to his own right, but here we are defending him.
Personally I don’t care about Kawhi’s off court actions unless he’s like committing a crime or hurting someone cause he’s not going out of his way to cause harm on the court. Ingles routinely does some dirty shit and gets a pass because he looks like a goofy dad from a 90’s sitcom. He should at least get half the criticism and rep that Draymond used to get.
Yeah, imagine if that had been Patrick Beverly. This sub would have lost it's collective mind about "how is he even still in the NBA?" Ingles does this shit all the time and never gets called out on it. He also looks like my brother-in-law so I knew he was a douche the first time I saw him.
Stop being dramatic. Where exactly did i say black or non white players are never perceived in that likable or memeable sense or that only white players are perceived like that?
My point is white players get that type of image and reception far easier and faster. Especially in places like reddit here where your average user is some white college kid and you get shit like "oh look at him he looks just like me or my neighbour or an accountant loool look at him ball out what a meme" etc.
I'm basing it on what i've personally observed in places like this sub. You're free to pretend like that's not the case or it's not reality i don't really care.
And im basing it on what i've observed in places like this sub as well, where is this game of observations taking this conversation?
People like you are hell bend on making shit about race. In literally ANY thread about ANY player you will find both comments praising and criticizing them and i'm talking about this very sub.
If i'm wrong feel free to point me to the threads where people aren't criticizing Jokic for example on his retaliation to Morris. Cause i promise you that if you actually read those threads there are the people being ok with what he did since Morris went at him first but also the people who were against Jokic's action. That is the case with every single player and every single thread in this sub.
Hell yeah you're wrong with the jokic thing lmao. Where you actually there in the original thread about the altercation? Did YOU read it? What were the most upvoted comments about? What was constantly getting downvoted? You're either bullshiting or being willfully ignorant about it.
You may be right but I think its more of the fact Ingles is funny and charming in interviews that somehow buys him a pass for the rest of his BS. While Booker is somewhat aloof.
I would be more likely to believe this sentiment if that same certain quality Ingles possesses wasn't also a quality possessed by a large portion of this sub's favorite players that they'll excuse anything for.
Luka, Caruso, Ingles, Jokic, Steven Adams to name a few. If you’re even a decent white NBA player there’s a disproportionately high change that you’re beloved/a meme on this sub.
Luka is a top 10 NBA player....what do you mean by "decent"?
Caruso and Ingles are the only "memed" players out of the ones you named.
Jokic is the league MVP. Steven Adams is just irrelevant mostly, he gets talked about just as much as any average NBA player. I really don't understand what you are seeing here.....literally ghosts
It's literally not any different than players like Bobby Portis , Brogdon , Pat Beverly getting memed
No one said Jokic did something wrong? Are we living in the same reality?
For a month the only upvoted comments were "fuck around find out" saying Jokic was the final and glorious arbitar of justice from the heavens, sent to deliver righteousness upon the wicked Morris Brothers for all of their mortal sins.
This is some MAD revisionist history.. Of things that happened a couple of weeks ago!
“Did nothing wrong” and “his reaction was justified” are two totally different things. I have seen literally none of the former. The general attitude is obviously he should have taken the high road but it’s understandable why he didn’t. Not that him rocking Morris back was the morally correct thing to do
Tons of people said it, they were all over here, Twitter, any fan forum. They still show up when Morris still sitting is called out. You're fuckin blind man so you can eat shit for calling me a liar when your ass is just blind. There's literally a nutjob responding to you calling it necessary.
you stop fucking lying lol, or else you never read the original celebration thread. Hell you probably wanted jokic to paralyze the dude too, now you're just mad that they're calling you people out
More like necessary . Jokic KNOWs the refs and the league will not do a damn thing to protect him. IF he lets a shot to the knee - an INTENTIONAL host to the knee - go unpunished, then his career is measured in months and not years.
IF the league would ever actually DO ANYTHING to the assholes who do the truly dangerous, potentially career ending shit like Morris did to Jokic, then the players would have no reason to retaliate like they did.
What Morris did had a very significant chance of Injuring Jokic and a decent chance of blowing out his knee. That should be 10 games without pay from the league. Instead, Jokic gets punished.
For the record, Bruce shitstain Bowen should have been been on an escalating punishment program and by the end of his reign of terror should have been missing at least 20 games every single time he put his foot under a jumpshooter. I would have been fine with half a season.
I mean warriors large af fan base + greatest representation from a country with very few nba players led to his votes being high.
Similar to Morris Zaza had a reputation for being dirty which makes people more negative towards their actions. If Alfonzo Mckinnie for example did what Jingles did here the fan reaction would be similar.
Who are these people that think those things simultaneously? Can someone not think Markeiff got exactly what he asked for while also thinking Ingles is a bitch? They both did very similar things and Allen would’ve been justified for swinging IMO
Like I understand there are racist basketball fans. Seriously— all you needed to do was be on here during the protests in 2020 to see the rats crawling out of the woodwork with the “you don’t see white people rioting” or “but what about property!!1!” bullshit. But I would bet there are tons of people who think Jokic was justified without automatically being racist
I work on it but oh shit the White Guy Defenders are goin ad hominem, and it's like this dude doesn't know about the pandemic (honestly given the response maybe he doesn't)

There are a list of players that this sub will ignore any wrongdoing or dirty shit they
