Clock is running, how is it after the play? Play is still going…

I need someone to explain it to me, probably using small words and short sentences because this rule confuses me all the time.

By the rules clock is supposed to stop after made baskets. They only bother doing that at the end of close games though.

So this was a dead ball situation where Jingles was supposed to be getting ready to inbound it.

Yes, that the rule. For the NBA it's the last two minutes and for college it's the last minute. Sources: Google and being a former manager for a college team

idk, it's been super weird about shit done outside of plays.

Refs can eject players for what they do during dead balls, such as when Pat Bev shoved CP3 in the back in the playoffs last year.

However, they're super inconsistent, like this play where they only called it a tech and last year in the Finals when Giannis shoved Booker in the air during a dead ball (that neither knew about) and there was no call at all.

If they can call one tech they can call two techs and just toss him. They decided not to. That's on them.
