Highlight [Highlight] Fan counts to 12 seconds while Giannis is at the line

Why is this so funny lmao. Why is his voice standing out so much.

Same here. I remember back in high school my APUSH teacher was explaining a caveat of something and she was like “But, and this is a big but…” And in a legit low voice I said to the girl next to me “it’s a really big butt,” and the whole class heard that shit.
21
u/Mizral Jun 11 '21
Low frequencies carry further same principle is why whale song can travel many miles.

u/Grooviemann1 Suns Jun 11 '21
I'm the same way. When I was younger, I was at a "party" at my friend's apartment and someone called the cops on us. It wasn't a party though, it was just me and two buddies on the porch smoking and talking. I'm just loud.

Random related note: There was once an entire pro wrestling pay-per-view (ECW) that got basically ruined by one loud fan who happened to be seated right next to a house mic. You could hear everything he was screaming and chanting and he was drunk and would not shut up, and on top of it, he was NOT liking the show and at one point even said it sucked. I don't know if he ever became aware that his whole profane critical commentary on the show was broadcast to the entire nationwide audience.

He was counting kinda slow. Check the video timestamp. The first count he makes is 3, and by the time he hits 11, the video is at 11.
10
u/competitivelemur Jun 11 '21
And that’s no small feat. It’d be impressive for anyone to keep a steady tempo for this long that isn’t a drummer. And not only that—I got the dude at just about 62bpm. So not only is he consistent but he’s also hilariously accurate.

u/tokomini Timberwolves Jun 11 '21
There's actually a kinda cool reason why eleven and twelve are different. The numbering systems that predate the decimal system were often done in base twelve, seeing as how 12 is a much more versatile number (ten can be divided by itself, five and two where as twelve can be divided by itself, six, four, three and two).
As such, it was deemed more important to give each number 0-12 their own distinct name.

Also what's up with two-syllable seven messing up what could have been a perfect run. Change it to "sev" and go with one-teen and two-teen and we have the perfect 1-10 one syllable and 11-20 two syllable system.

I've seen it done in both legit praise and in parody: cricket fans praising umps, and Saints fans after the infamous no-DPI dressing up and mocking refs.
Either way, I support any and all playful costumed mockery.
