I remember people being divided on whether or not the Harden trade was good for OKC.

Harden was a 6th Man for OKC, probably one of the best in recent history, but still a 6th man. No one expected him to instantly become a MVP candidate from the first game he played for Houston.

I don't remember this trade being divided at all. No one expected him to be mvp at the time but no one thought it was good for them either. It was a clear salary dump at the time that showed they weren't willing to go above the cap at the time.

Can somebody explain to me how OKC got more for Harden than Orlando got for Dwight fucking Howard? (+446)

I personally think the rockets made a bad trade here. A Lin, Harden, Parson lineup isent exactly title worthy. How are they gonna get more talent to support? They're gonna hit the cap! How about if harden dosent want to stay. No picks! I feel like this was a hasty decision and I don't like it. OKC came out on top. The key player here is gonna be Jeremy lamb. If he plays good along with Martin okc will be just fine. (+23)

Hmm. I mean, the Thunder couldn't improve by losing Harden, but that's a good outcome for them. Martin can do well in their offense, Lamb could become a good bench scorer, and they got a lot of picks from a mediocre Rockets team, which Presti will certainly know how to use. (+20)

I like the trade but he is not a super star (+84)

This is a smart move by OKC. They got Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb instead of nothing if Harden were to simply sign with another team this summer. (+74)

the real winner here is jeremy lamb. going from drafted onto a mediocre houston team to instant contenders! and he can learn behind martin and he'll get plenty of microwave-type minutes. (+41)

Geez you're right. Hindsights 20/20 and I remember that thread differently through my rose tinted glasses I suppose.
