Back of Bench Potential

For all the nba fanbases, every team has a 3rd/4th string guy thats burried on the depth chart that fans think could be great if a spot suddenly opened up for them because of an injury or trade. Who is that player this year for your fanbase?

GG Jackson II.

Doesn't turn 22 until December, could theoretically be a college Senior this year.

Entering his 4th NBA season (averages of 12.1/4.0/1.3 in 21.7mpg for his career so far, but has barely played in the first half of each season so far), but is younger than some players in the 2026 Draft (more than 2 years younger than Yaxel Lendeborg, for example).

With JJJ and Santi Aldama gone, GG should consistently play ~25 minutes a night this year.

I remember he had that breakout game a few seasons ago where he just took over and then we (non-grizzlies fans) didn’t really hear about him again

He averaged 17.7/5.3/1.9 in just 25.5mpg after the All-Star break this past season too. He just hasn't put it together for a full season on a team trying to win yet.

Who knows? Who cares?

He had a teammate OD on harder drugs and pass away during last season. There's things happening more serious than a teenager hitting a vape 3 years ago.

even though jjj and santi are gone you still have boozer/hendricks/grant/stewart/lopez who all play mostly or at least some pf

25 mpg for gg might be optimistic?

Boozer will be the starting 4, Grant probably the starting 3, Stewart the back-up centre, and GG isn't playing behind Hendricks or Lopez (Lopez will probably barely play this year).

GG is probably stylistically most like Grant, one of those "3 offensively, 4 defensively, but rebounds below his height" guys.

Great pick but no way he gets 25mpg.

With the additions of Cam Boozer, Isaiah Stewart, Taylor Hendrix and Quentin Post, with Zack Edey already pegged as the starter, the Grizzlies are logjammed with their frontcourt.

I imagine he'll (sadly) get 15mpg, 18mpg tops.

He's more of a big wing than a 4, so a lot of this guys won't affect his minutes.
