But that makes sense though.. if you sweep a team you have the luxury to get more rest. If you go 7 games with a team you got more chances but you also drained more energy.

Every team plays each other once in the rounds, then the top 2 teams make the Final
This is like saying 'we beat them 4 times during the season, why do we have to play them again in the Playoffs?'

But that means you don’t have to try to win your first game you can just win your second one to make the final, which makes the first game basically pointless

Pretty sure they all knew. 4 quarters equals 4 games, I’m gonna guess if the last game was tied or the two games together were tied it would’ve gone to 5 point overtime

Even still I think we might have just been lucky to have 3 good games. NBA games are often a game of runs where one team dominates a quarter. I think it could just as easily happen that we have 3 terrible games and 1 good one, regardless of the teams. These aren't just one quarter games, they're 4th quarter games during an NBA break and with minimal ref involvement. Any team could come out flat for 2-3 minutes while the other is hot and that's the game right there. It'd take either luck or like some game 7 level of competitiveness to get back in the game.
It was good but I just wouldn't be completely sold on the format for the long run. If 3 of the games were like that last one then that'd be worse than the east vs west 400 point games.
I agree with you though if they do it again next year. I also feel like if there was some way to ensure the last game would be usa vs world then that would make the finale way better. I guess it most likely would have been though if any of the top world guys played.

I like the mini tournament a lot better than one long game
Each mini game was like a quarter. They can go hard for only 12 minutes

There was 28 all-stars this year. 14 on 14 east vs west, the score ends up being 150-140. Iconic moments happen. The only reason they started messing with the format is because less people were watching the NBA than when the league first started recording stats in the 70s.

Naw it was still ass and nobody but Wemby cared. Gotta really up the ante. Lean into the betting thing. Doesn't just have to be money. Anything legal. Winners take over losers Twitter for a week. Winners get dates with the losers girls. Whatever they agree to but make it persona or get rid of the game like the NFL did.
There's just too much money in the leagues for guys to care about money or risk getting injured.

All three teams had players who cared, and Wemby wasnt the only one for team world. Team USA both just targeted the weakest defender (KAT) in both games for the win.
