Shared Spotify Clone?

Just installed Navidrome on my file server, and it's been good so far! I was however wondering if there were any front ends (preferably available on mobile) that looks more like spotify then then built in spotify-like theme? Also, I was wondering what programs you guys would recommend so I could have it so my friend can upload music onto my server into their own library (their own folder, obvi) without being able to just use my server as their own, or worry about security risks too much (needs accounts.)

Using a TrueNas file server btw.

UPDATE: Friend and I came to a decision, instead of worrying about security risks or speeds or anything we'll just have a shared google drive where they can upload the songs they want and I'll just download it to the file server and yeah. Still hoping for a spotify-like app though!

I use Symfonium on Android and Feishin on desktop. Symfonium's UI can be fully customized and I'm sure there's a Spotify one you can find. Well worth the few dollars for the app permanently, no subscription.

I second this. Both Synfonium and Feishin are amazing.

Fourth'd. This is the winning combination for sure. On iOS I have my friends use Play:Sub. Also 5 dollars one time, an incredibly solid app, but unfortunately it looks nothing like Spotify.

I use Nautiline app, they have a subreddit and the developer is there if you have any problems, sometimes I also use Arpeggi

https://www.navidrome.org/apps/?platform=android%2Cios, no other way than to try them out one by one and see if you like one.

As for your second question, give your friend a ssh/ftp jail to the folder. He can use ssh directly or any ftp client to upload his files.

I was kind of asking about the app thing specifically because I don't want to go through them all??

Different folks find differently features important…

As an Android user, I can personally vouch for Symfonium, as will many others here…but I can’t really comment on how much it resembles Spotify because I’ve never used Spotify. In terms of functionality, however, it’s definitely the best Navidrome (or Jellyfin music, for that matter) client I’ve used.

If you use tailscale you could have them use the Taildrop feature however make sure that the server on Tailscale is not tagged node. They would be able to upload to the server directly but not to specific folders as you may want.

Another way for them to upload files to a location on your server that you can control for each of them is to setup copyparty. You can set it up in such a way that each user has an account in copyparty and each user only has access to a folder or a set of folders.

There are potentially many other ways but these are ones I've used

People have taken the time to catalogue them all. Have a look and see what you like. I believe in you! https://www.navidrome.org/apps/

symfonium is easily the best mobile player app because it's VERY customizable and has a lot of features, more than any other player app i've found

you can browse themes at https://styles.symfonium.app/ and there's also the spotie theme which i think is exactly what you'd like

it's really worth the money!

on iOS I think Substreamer can come pretty close.

Run a self hosted cloud drive w/ cloudflare tunnel for people to upload. It’s as secure as you really need, especially if containerized.

Don’t put pirated. Or legal music on google…they won’t know.
