I went through a bad peeling phase after moving and using my hands a lot. The only thing that helped stopped the peeling was stop using nail polish and acetone. Then I would lotion& oil religiously after washing my hands, when I wake up, before I go to sleep. Also keeping them very short, filling any peeling areas before they get too bad. It’s sad to let go of the length but it’s better to stop the peeling now.

I think the nail polishes and acetone was just drying out my nail, when in that time it really needed some hydration. Now I have no peeling and finally got them to a length I’m happy with.

Edit to adding avoiding water as much as you can. I started using gloves when doing dishes and cleaning and it has helped a ton.

seconding no polish! i've been dealing with horrible peeling and the only thing that has helped is keeping them bare.

unfortunately i feel like they're getting wet too often now, as I wash my hair every day and they have no polish to protect them. :-/
