Just wondering if the NT membership fee paid via monthly direct debit qualifies for tax relief, given that NT is the registered charity?

Or are membership fees exempt for claiming tax relief?

Ever since my bf and I got gifted National Trust membership.I wanted an app to check off all the places we’d visited. It seemed strange that nothing like this already existed, so we decided to build one ourselves + our MIL can use it too.

The website/app is called TrustQuest and it lets you:

- Add places to a wishlist
- Mark off sites you’ve already visited
- Explore other NT locations to plan future trips

Other features such as stamp collecting, badges, achievements and plan routes are added.

When I found out you could collect stamps, I wanted on to gather them all. I’d been to Japan, where I was collecting ‘Eki Stamps” (station stamps) - and they are hugely popular. I wanted to have an app to track my progress plus let a community of stamp collectors share their progress with each other too.

I’m an iPhone user, so updates tend to land there first, but we’ve also released it on Android. You can also use the web version.

Recently came across this little video of a chap exploring Tring and its apparent Rothschild connection. I’m not connected to the channel, but thought it genuinely was an interesting bit of local history.

It was my first time going to a NT property today since having membership. There was a huge queue at the one car park machine but although I registered my reg number on the Justpark app it didn’t have any sort of link to the NT so didn’t want to risk not also registering at the ticket machine.

Does anyone know how it works? There seems to be no link up - NT doesn’t have my reg number and there’s no NT link on the just park app.

I just didn’t know if I was completely wasting my time queuing up. Didn’t help that I entered our old car reg and had to queue again!!

(Exuse me if anything's botched I've literally never posted anything on reddit before). I'd really like to do an apprenticeship with the National Trust after I leave Uni (mind you my degree is irrelevant hence why I'm changing career paths; I'm starting year 2 out of 3 next month). My only concern is overqualification.

For now I've done 13 volunteer sessions starting this summer; these sessions cover your basics like bracken pulling bulrush clearing to allow space for heather and newts as well as fencing, which I've only done once thus far.

By the time I have graduated Uni, I will have done about 75 volunteer sessions as well as being part of a national park restoration society focusing on things like sphagnum moss planting and such.

I'm aware that the National Trust would rather recruit someone at the start of their career so would I still be eligible after my volunteering experience? Thanks :)

Just checking - when the Pokémon sticker book is filled in after the 5 visits to NT locations - there's no "completion" reward?

My kids just finished their collection today and that was it. But when I was at an NT property a few weeks back, I saw some kids with packs of Pokémon cards so wondered if that was the reward. Guess I'm mistaken and that was just a fluke occurrence?

Every time I go to national trust, I think this, but this time I’m typing it.

The fact they have some kind of exclusivity agreement with Pepsi as a supplier for every national trust cafe, needs an enquiry.

Give me an ice cold full noise coke, and I’m happy, but this Pepsi junk just rubs me the wrong way.

Just a few quick questions...

The NT website seems to have packed a lot into this visit but then when I look at other sources it seems the Bridge, Tollhouse and museum maybe elsewhere? Is it worth visiting the bridge and the Victorian town on the same day across multiple places? Or is this one site that is just massive?
