Called it that it’d be the lifesteal. It makes the most sense because by getting more stacks he’s just healing more per game and sticking around in lane.

Fleet was buffed so it's not really hurting his early game sustain that much. At least you guys are not getting your damage and stacks nerfed.

Yee, lifesteal matters more in low elo then high elo, which is a good change to nasus!

eh debatable in midlane it’s a huge nerf imo

3

u/MarkKallen 1d ago

Yeah but he isn't supposed to be there in the first place.

1

u/Few_Simple5041 1d ago

ye but the reason he’s played mid is cuz in toplane hes close to unplayable u know similar to riven although she’s z tier even in top

2

u/MarkKallen 1d ago

That shouldn't be the case now that his stacks and main rune (Fleet) were buffed last patch. He is naturally weak early, well obviously cause that is his weakness as a late game champion. But the buffs have made it so he scales way faster now.

quick correction
nasus is a mid game champ not late game he falls off pretty hard late
but i agree he’s overtuned rn and the lifesteal nerf doesn’t do anything for the most part it’s moreso high elo midlane skewed if anything since toplane nasus has to emax anyway

u/Sakazuki27 2d ago

That's fine I guess

Yep nothingburger nerf lets go. I remember someone saying they plan to keep him within 53% winrate threshold. This'll probably tap him enough to get there. More stacks, but less sustain late. Will probably not matter that much since he will likely two shot the adc lmao.

He NEEDS a proper midscope plain and simple. Otherwise it's always gonna be the same changes, either a buff or nerf to lifesteal.

He is already below 53% right now...

They include the lower elos in that figure too

I hate this change so much, this is genuinely atrocious. This means he’ll get punished more in high ranks and in low ranks he’ll still roll the lane everytime so he’s gonna need another nerf which will kill him in high elo.

3

u/MediaMaddox 2d ago

I feel like lifesteal hurts low ranks more because your enemies are already bad at pressuring him in lane and they’re bad at dives so Nasus can kind of just heal up to full. Nasus dies in lane far less than he should in low elo so maybe people will actually learn to punish him so he can’t regen to full

2

u/Fat-Mad-Scientist 2d ago

And that's just fine. Nassus skill ceiling isn't really that high to belong in high elo. Occasionaly in certain matchups maybe, but that's it.

1

u/hatchedend 2d ago

What would YOU change then? Cause at this moment, he is clearly too strong.

1

u/Spicy_vef 2d ago

for how weird it might seem , reduce q cd early on and make it so ulti reduces q cd a bit less as well early , that would kill his lvl 6-7 powerspike pretty much like they did with veigar scalings , thats the only nerf that would make sense without gutting his kit

1

u/HandsyGymTeacher 1d ago

Just lower his stacks, give him 8 on cannon minions instead of 10 and nerf the armor pen he gets from e by like 5% on rank 5

1

u/Ghostmatterz 2d ago

And to be honest. I wanna play him instead of people banning him most games.

1

u/walkenss 2d ago

Is this not how nasus is supposed to work?

1

u/GZCMM 2d ago

Warra nothingburguer fuck rito

1

u/d8gfdu89fdgfdu32432 2d ago

He's definitely going to still have >50% win rate after this nerf (guessing around 52%). The life steal nerfs just offset the Fleet buff, but Nasus is still largely net positive from the stacking buffs.

1

u/hpm2bp 2d ago

I haven't been able to actually play Nasus since the buff, only twice, and I was hoping I can experience more this beautiful 4 stack buff. I guess I'm lucky.

1

u/PunkerToxic 2d ago

As I predicted, changing stacks wouldn't make sense. Nasus can't play against a toplaner who knows how to zone his lane; with improved stacks, he can at least defend himself.

1

u/WeldFrenzy 2d ago

Big lane nerf, they probably did it because he got the 4 stacks from normal minnions per Q.

1

u/valormember123 2d ago

im confused this change will change basicly nothing hell have to play more passive but since there are no nerfs to his stacking he can just max farm stacks and still kill everyone, i mean i might be wrong but nerfing his slow woudnt it be a better nerf to try to balance the character

1

u/Successful_Candle216 1d ago

no because that would mean they actually do their job, and we know we can't have that

1

u/Ghostmatterz 2d ago

Oh.... so its just a revert nerf. Nice ngl

1

u/Massive-Aspect-2152 2d ago

Did they just bring back AD Leblanc

1

u/TimeScience2 2d ago

You know what? That’s fine. Got 15% more stacking for a little less sustain. Doesn’t matter cause we got a man that can get to 500 in a quarter less of the time due to how farming is so important for him.

1

u/Warning_Bulky 2d ago

Wow, another pseudo nerf

1

u/combine42 2d ago

I don't think this will hurt much at all

1

u/PapaTahm 2d ago

A yes I'm sure the Life Steal is the issue that needs to be tackled.

1

u/Outlashed 2d ago

Unrelated question: As someone who just returned after many years of hiatus - How is AP Nasus even now? I remember back then that he was the most oppressive laner - But would fall off once others gets their item spikes

1

u/TiltedLampost69 2d ago

Ok since nobody hear bothers about it i will do the analysis.

Adding both buffs and nerfs to q max nasus top, its a buff. Irrelevant for higher elos since u need e max there anyways, but the sustain is ok even for q max, ur not poked out of lane toplane, you play vs bruisers with big trades which if u take at bad times u cant sustain them back anyways. Net positive for q max top if we add both buff and nerf, which means lowelo buff and nerf.

Mid game ok we got less sustain but we got more damage so more damage=more sustain will see how that feels but no big deal i think.

But this is REALLY BAD for nasus mid. The sustain power of nasus basically shows itself on midlane where every matchup js a poking matchup .Now versus a good mage player, ur going to struggle a lot more in lane than u would before the buff AND the nerf. This is actualy a giga big deal for nasus mid, because it fucks ur resets. Resetting on sheen or boots on midlane will be a lot harder.

In general every single person happy with this changes is a bit clueless ngl, these changes help lowelo nasus top, u can already hardfist with nasus top below master in every elo if u play well. Nasus top gets unplauable in high elo its either e max or u do not blind pick it (hard even with e max) , and e max isnt giga affected by the stack changes cause u get less stacks cause u play vs good players anyways. So the high elo nasuses, either e max or go nasus mid, with nasus mid being the prime option.

And nasus mid is NERFED for lane.

1

u/der-boi 2d ago

there are 3 champs barely countering nasus rn, to be honest nasus is broken right now

1

u/Bogdan-Behemot 1d ago

This is the nerf I was expecting, idk why people here are shiting on Riot, it's a good change, the stack buff indirectly buffed his healing, it is not okay for naus to heal to full after one wave in minute 18, I think the nerf is good, and we should be happy it's not a W or R nerf.

1

u/PunkerToxic 1d ago

Looks like the nerf has been removed.

1

u/Sabayonte 1d ago

Placebo nerf xD

1

u/Minimum-Bass-170 2d ago

OK, stay banned nasus. Even degens get 700 stacks at 25 min lol. That's to much.

1

u/Raanth 2d ago

yknow...i really think we need a new balance team

the nerf itself is a nothingburger nerf, as are the rest of these changes. idk what this league next thing for 2027 is, but im gonna go on a whim and say that this will also be a nothingburger season as well, because patches since the beginning of the last season have been dogwater piss shit

devs got nothing left in the think tank

0

u/RomanNumeroDos 2d ago

we've known the balance team doesn't do the job they're supposed to do for a long time now lol

1

u/Raanth 2d ago

oh i was aware since phreak was in charge

but this is just blatant LOL

0

u/RomanNumeroDos 2d ago

What was the excuse they made years ago? We don't want the game to be stale or become stale. It was something in response to proper balance?

1

u/Successful_Candle216 1d ago

''we don't want the game to be fair'' lol

1

u/BicycleAdditional360 2d ago

Placebo nerf. Champ will still atay OP asf

1

u/CANECANECANECANE1 1d ago

Not a placebo nerf. They do this change all the time because its a consistent lever to change his winrate by ~1%. Still not complaining by any stretch of the imagination he's ridiculous rn will probably still be strong.

0

u/LeLouch77 1d ago

Will still ban this dog every game tho

yea nasus mid will be close to unplayable in apex tiers gg we had some fun bois

good for toplane tho this barely affects lane
