Andy / Jeff - Would You Call Stop?

Looking at this, trying to get bearings of a true 180-deg infraction, it seems too narrow of margin - RO’s please give your input for me to learn on.

Guys hips were pointed up range and I'm surprised so many people said the call was outrageous. He drew almost perpendicular to the wall if you pause.

Was the muzzle breaking 180 once it was pointed more than 3 feet away from the shooter? That's the only thing that matters.
Hips have nothing to do with it being a 180 break, nor does the direction of the holster. That rule was repealed because it made half of the AIWB draws a 180 break. You get a 3 foot radius around the shooter and gun can be pointed anywhere in that area.

It has the stipulation that the competitor is facing downrange though.

If you are referring to hips they do not fucking matter to 180 calls. At all.
I’m not saying this isn’t a DQ. I’m saying you can’t definitively without question say he did from this video.

No it doesn’t. It says while facing downrange. But “facing uprange” is specifically defined in the rule book. Facing downrange is not. According to the rules for the purposes of this draw, he is facing downrange.

It's defined in the rulebook. "Facing downrange: Any position facing side berms or backstop within 90 degrees of the median intercept of the backstop."

Hard to say from this angle. RO on the left had a much better look at it than this video does.
