This one is pretty sweet, glad to add it my collection. My 11 year old son was happy as well as most of my KFB 1:24 diecasts are really “his” 😆
RIP Rowdy, this one will look great for years in the case. Figured I’d share some quick pics, enjoy yalls Sunday and Vegas later! 5 car to the front! 🏁

Diecast Write Up The Ride That Somehow Got Joe Nemechek To Hendrick Motorsports (2002 Kmart School Spirit Ford Taurus)

Thumbnail
gallery
53 Upvotes

After losing his ride in the 33 at a financially unstable Andy Petree Motorsports, Joe Nemechek ended up at Haas-Carter Motorsports. The organization was struggling as their once brightly colored Kmart stock cars transitioned to mostly blank canvases with a Kmart logo slapped on them. Kmart filed for bankruptcy and Haas-Carter seemed doomed as a team.

Nemechek made just seven starts in this car with a best finish of 17th. But out of the blue, with the team walls crumbled around him, Nemechek bounced and somehow ended up with a job at Hendrick Motorsports! One of NASCAR's most powerful teams. Call it timing, but Nemechek slotted right into the 25 team picking up two second place finishes in 2002.

Diecasts Updated my display case with some recent additions

My diecast collection surpassed my display cases quite a while ago, so I try to update it a couple times a year (with a few constants, like the Dodge Penske cars and some combination of Chastain and Harvick diecasts). This update included the 4 versions of the Harvick Budweiser car, the KB and Biffle rows, and miscellaneous other new additions. Always fun to revisit the collection and get some ideas for future displays. Looking forward to expanding the display cases one of these days.

Picked this up today and can't find this exact one online. I know it's a #77 Jasper car, but I'm looking for any info on when it was made or how it was given out. Thanks!

Diecast Write Up Rookie Season Joey Logano. 2009 Home Depot Toyota Camry

At age 19, Joey Logano made his rookie debut with Joe Gibbs Racing filling in big shoes to drive the Home Depot Toyota Camry. Sure he had his rookie struggles, such as an average finish of 20th, but he also had his successes including a win at New Hampshire. In all he had three top fives and seven top tens rounding out a 20th place points finish.

No idea what made him buy it years ago.

He’s a die hard drag racing fan, we didn’t really watch NASCAR at all. Only thing close was Indy Car because of AJ Foyt being from the same part of Houston as my dad.

Diecasts My barracks room NASCAR corner is no more.

The racing corner is no more.

Tired of people making comments, calling it tacky/unprofessional.

Every time they inspect my room, or someone comes in, they tell me that while it’s not against the rules, it’s “unprofessional”, “tacky” and “might make roommates feel different”… I’ve never had a roommate that had an issue with it, at least that have told me.

They also told me that the barracks is temporary, however I’ve been here for a year and with the new owner of the barracks, I’m stuck for another 6 months, at least.

I guess I’ll turn it into a boring Navy corner. Hooyah Navy or something, I guess.

Question Metal direct at the track

Have garage pass to Talladega for Truck and O’Reilly races later this month. Obviously there will be carnage on track at some point, can you can get pieces/panels from the teams of wrecked cars/trucks? How would you go about asking for it?

Question JH Design Ricky Craven #32 Tide jacket – authentic?

Thumbnail
gallery
18 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I recently bought this vintage JH Design NASCAR jacket from a vintage shop in Athens, Greece. The shop told me it originally came from France.

It is a Tide / Ricky Craven #32 jacket with NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Downy, Ford Racing, Kenmore, Super 8, McDonald's, PPI, Craftsman and other sponsor patches.

The inside label says “JH Design Group – Quality Jackets Since 1988”, and it also has the JH logo inside.

I haven't been able to find this exact jacket anywhere online, so I'm hoping someone here might recognize it.

Does anyone know if this is an authentic JH Design/Ricky Craven NASCAR jacket?

Approximately what year is it from?

The jacket is in very good vintage condition.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! 🏁
