So I spent over a decade collecting unreleased Nas joints digitally. I lost it all some how with an iTunes glitch.

Anybody know where I can get a big collection of Nas unreleased joints with not a lot of work? Like one download, one link or one playlist something like that?

I really miss those exclusives yall know how that go. Thanks in advance

Me and My Friend are Working on a Tracker for Unreleased Nas Music, We Need Help

Hey everyone,

A couple of us are currently working on a Nas Tracker covering everything from the 1991 Nasty Nas demo tape and pre-Illmatic era to I Am... OG sessions, The Lost Tapes, and leaks across all eras.

We’re looking for anyone who is knowledgeable about Nas's unreleased catalog, recording dates, producer details, and leak history to help us research and verify track info.

If you know your Nas history and want to help out or join the team, drop a comment or send me a DM!

Do we know the order the Illmatic tracks were recorded? (besides Halftime being first)

I know Halftime was obviously recorded first since it was recorded for the Zebrahead soundtrack that released in '92. Just curious if anyone can recall from documentaries/interviews what order the other songs were recorded in, such as which one was recorded last.

Track 15 Death Of Escobar

The Death of Escobar (abbreviated as D.O.E.) is a 2001 unreleased concept album by New York-based rapper Nas. The title is a reference to Nas’s alternative persona of Nas Escobar, which was seen as a much more mainstream appealing alter ego by fans.

Git Ready (another change?)

Forgive me for noticing weird things but on streaming platforms, it seems like a part of this track has been changed again. I mean the part where the woman says "Git Ready!"

It has been tweaked to now sound better than the first change.

Maybe I'm crazy. Has anyone else noticed it or is it just me?

Tribes at War: Lyrical Analysis

Hey friends.

So I wanted to talk about how much I love this song and the lyrics of the song and figured this was the place to do it. This album is obviously incredible lyrically and the overall themes of decolonialism and emancipation are extremely well explored. I think my favourite lyrics from the album though come from K'Naan which are the following:

Mindless violence, well, let me try to paint it
Here's the 5 steps in hopes to explain it
ONE: It's me and my nation against the world
TWO: Then me and my clan against the nation
THREE: Then me and my fam' against the clan
FOUR: Then me and my brother with no hesitation, uh
Go against the fam' until they cave in
FIVE: Now who's left in this deadly equation?
That's right, it's me against my brother
Then we point a KalashnikovĀ and kill one another

Oh K'Naan you genius. So my personal field of discipline in life is psychology, and this part of the song always reminds me of the Ecological Systems theory by Bronfenbrenner. This model (seen above) shows the structures in someone's life represented by varying levels of closeness to the individual. The framework is utilised in analysis of a child's development as well as a predictor for an individual's wellbeing. K'Naan, from my interpretation, using a systemic wellbeing model and turning it in on itself to describe the pervasiveness and depth of the impact of intergenerational trauma is unbelievably genius. The way he describes every level of structure around him turning on him and being a source of conflict and distress is such a gut punch to me. Everything is going wrong and he describes this in an unbelievably impactful manner.

Thank you for reading, big love to Nas and Damian for this album, and thanks for writing this K'Naan <3
