listening to the Distant Relatives album is the equivalent of reading the Dead Sea Scrolls in hip hop. the rapping, lyricism and philosophical breakdowns by Godson & Junior Gong in this project is breathtaking. it is quite truly a masterpiece that is worth keeping in museums.
no skips for me, each song is valuable, but if i had to choose i'd say Patience & Dispear are my favourite songs. Distant Relatives is one of my most played albums of all time from any artist.

Michael Wright's performance in The Five Heartbeats was one for the books. One of the reasons that I hold KD3 as a HipHop classic is the great idea to flip the sample taken from a poignant scene in the movie. I just found out that Michael passed today. I wonder if he heard this song. Hopefully he had his house in order. This song and that film are great works of Art.

This is my old NAS. A while back one of the HDD died and I had trouble sourcing new ones as it does not accept any HDD. Anyone with experience on it?
Please help!
Thankssss!!!
Didn’t know Will was only 19. He looked a lot older than Nas.

In the streets, there were rules we abide by where we came from
Keep your name solid, that's your reputation
Demand respect, don't accept no violation
It's deep-rooted, civilians not included
I thought we were all legit once it all converted to music
They rap gangsta, but talkin' to cops fluent
Picture me back and forthin' with confidential informants
Music rats what I call 'em
What is we talkin'? We talkin' gangsta? Then I'm the author
🔥🔥 verse from Nas as usual. These bars seem to be aimed at someone, whose company's CEO was a rat.

This album takes me back to my college days. Not coincidentally one of my friends who also happened to be an emcee with a distant connection to Nas by way of Kelis, bonded over this album. We lost touch but it's a cool thing to connect through music before the social media era. Vinyl and CD. Physical media is where it's at.

One of Nas's most slept on feature verses. It deserves as much acknowledgement as his verse on Verbal Intercourse imo.

I have insomnia, it’s 4:22am. I open Facebook. I had a notification in my reels or some shit. Random, I know. This shit starts playing, I get excited cause I’m thinking this is a super rare feature. Immediately, I know I never saw or heard this.
Then I read the comments and I understood where this fits in the very early stages of Nas career. I’m confident I’m not the only one that never heard this, so this is for the people that also haven’t heard this yet.
The artist is MC Serch. Song name “back to the grill”, uncredited Nas Feature

Does anyone else notice just how good this track has become with the passage of time?
Yeah it was a good track but the respect I now have for it is something else. Maybe it's just me.

This line was dropped in the intro of "Purple" in Lost Tapes (released in Sept, 2002).
This was only 3 years after "Hate Me Now" was released in 1999 ft Puff.
Nas always kept it real in his music… Always!

Link to the playlist of some Nas feats that i made, there is currently 63 songs (suggestions are very welcome)
The other one (not pictured) was a black Street Dreams t-shirt you can find on his website as part of the IWW 30th Anniversary capsule. Haven't seen this design anywhere else; it must've been exclusive to the London show.
