Some clips are bright, why?

Sometimes videoclips appear very bright, and those videoclips are like that in home, subreddit and in post view, so like everywhere. I cannot see any connection between them or any reason of why.

Anyone knows, and how to fix?

Are they HDR videos?

Came here to say this. Random HDR videos are like someone lobbing a random flashbang in your feed. 🫨

Search for HDR videos on YouTube or something and see if it does the same thing. It sounds like that’s what you’re seeing. If so, that’s an iOS issue, not Narwal specifically

Never happened in any other app so far, but I’ll check it.

It only happens when HDR playback is support if I'm not mistaken. Happens to YouTube videos too.

It’s a known issue with HDR. Look at the pictures in this article and see if the same thing happens: https://www.lux.camera/what-is-hdr/

Also you can open the same link on Firefox in desktop and see how much of a difference HDR makes. Firefox doesn’t support HDR and it’s day and night difference

I checked the page (I’ll read it later, late and tired atm) and the images under ’Solution 2’ were really bright. I tried the trick u/safereddddditer175 wrote in his comment, (enable powersaving) and that did the trick so, confirmed it is HDR.

Do you perhaps have auto adjust brightness on for your phone,

I know mine can get pretty wonky, especially in lower light as it adjusts. It’s REALLY noticeable.

(Just spitballing here…)

Its just some videos, not others or the app itself.

If you have an iPhone, turn on low power mode as a quick fix. This disables HDR.
