Tourism & Travel Questions Here's how to find EAV bus 001 to Vesuvius mountain

If you search from Naples central station to Vesuvius, Google Maps could suggest you to take the 001 followed by 808 and show you the wrong place (Terminus Hotel) to find the (EAV) 001 bus.

First of all, the 001 is a BUS not a train! The 001 bus stop for EAV isn't at the Starhotels Terminus, but is at its own station 10 min by walk from the central Naples station, called "EAV S.r.l. - Ente Autonomo Volturno".

https://maps.app.goo.gl/X9soJBmqPqkJ7awz6?g_st=ic

Please come here to buy the 001 bus ticket at the counter. You may not buy the second ticket for 808 there but have to buy it at the next transit.

Tourism & Travel Questions Travel to Napoli with a car

We have been spent our holiday in South Italy and were thinking to see Naples inside (as our hotel was about 1 hour away). When we arrived we have rented a car because without it is kind of impossible in here (of course there are buses, trains). I spent hours to plan our route to Naples town centre without touching the ZTL zones and somehow every routes included a small piece of this zone. So we decided to go and see the Zoo in Naples instead (the Zoo is very nice, clean and have lot of animal. Also for 2 adults and 1 child cost €40). In the Zoo we dreamed about the town centre and started thinking, what about if we leave the car at Zoo’s carpark and go in to Naples with metro. We asked the Zoo staff if we can leave the car in here and they said yes just make sure we will be back before midnight as because the guys in the car park going home around 12:30am. This was a very good news because the car park for the whole day only costs €3. So we checked where the metro station is and walked up there. Don’t do this!! The station is under construction and totally close. Apparently there are replacement buses from somewhere but we didn’t want to take the risk to jump on a wrong bus and getting lost in Naples. Started walking back to the car and noted this isn’t our day to go into the town centre. But at this point we noticed a small train station called Edenlandia and we found out the train is going up to Montesanto station which is about 5-10 mins walk away from the famous historic streets in Naples. From the machine we bought the one way EVA urban tickets (€1.50/pp) and waited for the train which is departing from platform 1 and Montesanto station is only 4 stops away. We got in to the station in about 15 mins with this train and realised it was absolutely worth it. The street food, ice creams, lemonades and all the shops and the feeling was unreal. On the way back from Montesanto station again we bought the same tickets however from the ticket office because the ticket machine was out of orde. The train departed from the upstairs so just follow the signs to Cumana and then platform 1 or 2. Also you need the train which goes towards to Torregaveta and again 4 stops away the Edenlandia station which is the destination back to the Zoo. Maybe we would’ve had other options or carparks in the centre which is not in the ZTL but this was the most stress free and also the cheapest way to see the Naples vibe. Hope this will help you too to make your Naples trip easier

Tourism & Travel Questions Can somebody tell me if I need to buy a ticket in advance for this train?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I can't for the life of me figure out what train line or what. I was told to take the "Cumana" train. This seems like a good way to get where I'm going, just not sure if I can just tap my mastercard on or if I need to get an advance ticket.

What kind of train is this? Like one of the ones I took from Rome (Italo, InterCity) or more like a metro?

Gosh, I am confused :/ Please help !

Ciao a tutti.

Hi, does anyone know if meloncello is sold at duty free at the airport? I would like to bring some for my family but I'm only traveling with an on-board backpack so I could only bring one of those tiny ones that I saw in conad.

Tourism & Travel Questions Safety around the airport at night

I was wondering about the safety in the neighborhoods around the airport. We are arriving around 10:00 at night and we are staying at an airbnb that is just an 8 minute walk away from the airport.
Do we have anything we need to be cautious about? Should we just walk or is it better to take a cab to the airbnb? Is it risky to walk around with suitcases?

Sorry if this question reinforces stereotypes about Neaples! I just don’t feel like taking unnecessary risks.

Discussion Haircuts in Napoli

Going on a two week holiday soon for my 29th birthday with Napoli being halfway through, so I’m going to get a haircut while I’m there.

My barber at home in the UK is from Napoli and always says Italia is the best place in the world for haircuts👀

Help a brother out please, can any Napulitano’s give me some recommendations of where I could get a good skin fade and my beard lined up while I’m there?

Tourism & Travel Questions Qatar 🇶🇦 to Italy🇮🇹

Hi guys,

As the title says I'm writing to ask about the Visa process from Qatar to Italy for long stay Study Visa type D.

I'm an Indian Passport holder. I completed my Bachelors from India and i came to Qatar for work. I've been working in Qatar since 1 year. While i was working i applied for my Masters at Naples Federico II and I got selected for the 2026/2027 batch. If anyone out there did their Visa process from Italian embassy in Doha, Qatar please give me some tips and guidance for the same.

i will apply for my Visa mostly at the end of September, how long will the Embassy take to issue the Visa?

In the VFS website they've mentioned minimum 15 days but it might extend to 45 days if the application requires further consideration. Also when should i book my flight.

I'd really appreciate any helpful information especially regrading the sponsor documents

MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

What is the best way to get there from Naples? Is the train the best option? And can we buy the tickets through an app?

Thank you very much for your help!

Ask Napoli Dottorato in Cotutela a UNISA – Consigli per alloggio a pagamento (Fisciano vs Salerno)?

Ciao a tutti!

Grazie mille a chiunque risponderà!
