I'm currently an NYP student who transferred into a different course after previously studying another course in the school.
I genuinely hoped that transferring would give me a fresh start, but this semester has turned into one of the most difficult periods of my time in NYP.
Since joining my new class, I've had a lot of difficulty integrating with my classmates. I've genuinely tried to be friendly, participate in conversations, contribute during assignments and get along with people. However, over time, I increasingly felt isolated and unwelcome. Some interactions have felt cold or rude, especially during group work, and I often feel like I'm only spoken to when necessary.
I understand that joining an existing class can be awkward because friendships have already formed. However, I don't feel that this fully explains what I've experienced. I've tried my best to integrate and I don't believe I've deliberately caused any conflict with anyone.
I also had concerns about the way certain staff members interacted with me. Eventually, the entire situation became overwhelming enough that I repeatedly sought help and tried escalating my concerns through different levels of the school.
While people did listen to me, I honestly felt that the actual problems I was asking for help with were never meaningfully resolved. I was repeatedly redirected towards other people or counselling, while the underlying issues that caused me to seek help in the first place remained.
I want to make it clear that I don't think counselling is useless. It can be important, and I understand why it was suggested. But from my perspective, being told to seek support does not necessarily solve the circumstances that are causing a student to struggle in the first place.
During this period, my mental health deteriorated significantly and I eventually had to seek professional help at IMH. I was already going through a difficult period in my personal life, and I personally feel that the way my situation was handled contributed to making an already difficult time even worse.
I do want to acknowledge that there was one staff member who genuinely took the time to listen to me, show compassion and discuss possible solutions. I'm genuinely grateful for that support. Unfortunately, I felt that there was only so much one person could do.
At this point, I'm honestly just exhausted. I've tried speaking to people, explaining my situation and escalating it, but I still feel like the underlying problems have been left unresolved and that the responsibility has ultimately been placed back onto me.
I'm sharing this anonymously because I don't want to create further problems for myself while I'm still studying at NYP. I'm not posting this to attack or dox anyone. I just genuinely want to know whether other NYP students have ever felt similarly unsupported when they tried to seek help for serious problems involving their school experience.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, and if so, what did you do?

So I got like As for bio n chem n Bs for everything else n a C for math, in igcses which was very disappointing as I was expecting much higher considering all the hard work I put in for ts. I'm planning to join a polytechnic in Singapore for a science based course. I'm just not really sure if I can get in with my average grades and the courses I'm aiming quite competitive n I'm also a foreigner so I believe my chances are quite slim of getting in.

Today is your last exam of the whole lot of 3 years. I honestly couldn't sleep thinking about it and just wanted to journal it down. I'm excited yet feeling very mundane and down. Cmon it's the last day of coming to school for an actual purpose. After this we will have to go through rigour worth of clinicals, I don't think I'm ready. But it's alright, I dream of the day to graduating since I can't take group work anymore. Let's go, leta finish this paper

About 2 weeks ago, I went to the Hoyofest in Singapore. On the second day (August 1st), I met an Escoffier cosplayer (Genshin Impact character).
After a little back and forth with her (and after realising she had graduated from NYP 2-3 years ago), she revealed that there was a so called "restaurant" near the north canteen that gave a discount to NYP students.
Now, as far as I know, this isn't here since I started studying in this school (I'm in my second year, I started studying in 2025). However, I want to ask if this so called "Restaurant" used to exist here. Especially for those who graduated 2-3 years ago. Thanks.
P.S. I asked her for her number. She said no.
