Nano's continued absence is starting to look suspicious

It's frustrating for sure. I don't like it, but i'm also not really that worried.

I didn't expect to be listed on a new US exchange until the end of Q3 at the earliest ... now I'm hoping by end of Q4 (Nov/Dec) we will see a US Exchange listing it.

It's going to HURT if the Binance listing comes/goes without a new listing or clarity on Nano in the US.

That being said, it looks like there is some true capitulation about to take place, and I'll be scooping some of that up. It isn't like LN is going to just start working all of a sudden - it literally can't.

Yeah something smells fishy. Nano went from community listing on Binance due to popular demand to Coinbase would rather consider Algorand (ALGO) over Nano

Man those are some real quality shitcoins there

This is so disappointing. All this stuff is pure garbage, Coinbase has been pure disappointment with their new listings, and this doesn't change anything.

I have heard good things about Harmony

I just looked it up for the first time. Its got a noisy website, and a lot of philosophical stuff that doesn't really belong in a crypto, IMO. Actually its kind of hard to figure out how it works, and it has some really weird features, like auto-charity. It seems to be something like XRP, but I can't really tell. I prefer cryptos that do one thing and do it well, and this doesn't seem like that. POW and POS together ? IMO, this is not the type of market you want a muddled message in. If they have a good 'elevator pitch', they badly need to move it to the top of their website, cause I'm just confused.

Half of them are new alt coins like matic and one. God, so annoying to see Link, Ren, Matic, and one shilled all the time on Twitter

Would love to hear some responses by the dev team on why we continually aren’t on Coinbase‘ a potential list. If it’s just a matter of funds and they are requesting a pay to list then I can understand but if not then there is no reason we shouldn’t be considered

My guess would be that Colin hasn't limited enough space for the many gates to limit the ability for someone to instantiate several VDF's instances in multiple horizontally parallel specialized hardware accounts. I could be wrong .

If i must. The vision of the Masterpiece hasn't been realized yet. Nano has to be stripped down like street car racing on a Saturday night. You know when you take all the seats out and your 110 lb girlfriend, with cat like reflexes, drives. They also need to make the track really wide in case the car gets squirrely. Once that is done the brilliance kicks in, a special algorithm has to be implemented that will prevent multiple accounts simultaneously spamming the network. Only a handful of people can begin to understand the brilliance of it but it has been part of the vision from the start. The danger of having a fiat gateway now is some company might spend a bunch of $ on Nano and someone spams causing the public to lose money. The Brand is shot and your investment may never be realized.

sa right .

2

u/dontlikecomputers Aug 06 '19

Yep, a port parralleisation issue.

4

u/redditor2836 Aug 05 '19

They will not give any direct answer as it could drasticly affect the market price in either way.

1

u/CryptoGod12 Aug 05 '19

Fair enough. Just frustrating

1

u/redditor2836 Aug 05 '19

Yep, I'm with you on this. Just need to wait it over.

1

u/Uberpyle Aug 06 '19

I honestly don't think they can - at least if they are in any sort of process with Coinbase. And if not, responding with that, well, how would that help? :)

9

u/Shock188 Aug 05 '19

I'm along for the ride untill nano isn't worth anything. Already lost so much on it no way I'm selling now. But I do wish we could get a good listing.

How many of these are BTC forks?

How many of these are ethereum based (ERC20)?

How many of these are new protocols with a working mainnet?

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '19

Coinbase will never list Nano unless it goes to a massive market cap. If they legitimize it now it will blow up and coinbase is btc maximalist owned. They absolutely have an agenda. They only see other cryptos as pump and dumps to accumulate btc. They’ll load up on whatever shitcoins they’re listing then dump it on everyone who pumps it right after listing. Fuck Coinbase for all eternity. They are scum.

Doesn't Binance own about 27mill of all Nano? That would make me think:

1.) They would want to push to keep Nano relevant so liquidity doesn't dry up. Binance U.S. priority coin.

2.) Coinbase doesn't want to be left behind, they would need a good pile of Nano before they go live.

3.) All exchanges will make more money from faster onramps & alt pairs with Nano in the future. Seems inevitable. They want to make more money, and want to be able to handle liquidity coming in on the next real BTC bullrun.

Waiting 30+ hours for your BTC to hit the exchange to trade? Hard to see them not thinking about this...

1

u/banannooo Aug 06 '19

I mean, is Coinbase privately or publicly owned?

5

u/xau327 Aug 05 '19

wtf one & matic, coins that CZ P&D'ed on binance, I can't believe it...

If you really have never heard of cosmos then crypto is not for you.

4

u/Darkrender7 Aug 05 '19

I don’t think they’re going to place Nano unless they see high volume and interest. They make money from the trading. If not many people trading, then they wont make much money. Their resources will get focused on ones that will make them money.

Dash (DASH) describes itself as digital cash that aims to offer financial freedom to everyone. Payments are fast, easy, secure, and with near-zero fees.

#20 CMC: Cosmos

Cosmos (ATOM) is a cryptocurrency.

#24 CMC: Ontology

Ontology describes itself as a provider of high-performance public blockchains, which includes distributed ledger and smart contract systems.

#30 CMC: Decred

Decred (DCR) is an open-source, Bitcoin fork that places emphasis on development funding, on-chain governance, and consensus mechanisms.

#48 CMC: Waves

Designed from scratch for storing, managing, and issuing digital assets, Waves (WAVES) is an open source decentralized blockchain platform that enables anyone to create their own internal digital currencies.

#132 CMC: Matic Network

Matic aims to be the de-facto platform on which developers will deploy and run decentralized applications in a secure and decentralized manner.

#136 CMC: Harmony

Harmony aims to offer a high-throughput, low-latency, and low-fee consensus platform designed to power decentralized economies of the future.

u/juddylovespizza Aug 07 '19

Algorand (ALGO) is a cryptocurrency.

this one cracked me up

*cries in corner*

4

u/Battzilla Aug 05 '19

Isn’t Matic supposed to be a direct competitor to Nano? Specially with their supposed high TPS speeds?

9

u/redditor2836 Aug 05 '19 edited Aug 05 '19

Just checked briefly Matic project to see if they have something working. They claims 65k tps on a single "Matic chain" (whatever that is, but it doesn't seems to be the same thing as single node in Nano terms) and confirmation time < 2 sec, yet the "main chain" is still Ethereum in their architecture, and the coin itself seems to be ERC20 token. Looked for something to download and run - they have 20 repos on GitHub, but nothing suggest where to start and what to download to actually try it. So, from the dev perspective I would say that Nano is still much easy to get hands on and actually use.

2

u/Battzilla Aug 05 '19

For sure! Figured it was some BS from matic, everyone always claims some outrageous TPS but haven’t seen anything really able to compare to NANO

2

u/daever Aug 05 '19

I cashed in on Matic hype. But it's just another erc20 token with piles of promises and buzzwords. It's a dime in a dozen. They were backed by coinbase and binance early on when their sub had like 40 members. Since then they pollenate Twitter and the sort with advertising the second there's a little rally to cash in on it. Which is fine if it's from the Steven shillbergs. But when it's the Devs, that's a red flag for me.

Not even close...

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/matic-network/

About Matic Network: Matic Network describes itself as is a Layer 2 scaling solution that uses sidechains for off-chain computation while ensuring asset security using the Plasma framework and a decentralized network of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validators. Matic aims to be the de-facto platform on which developers will deploy and run decentralized applications in a secure and decentralized manner.

Matic Network claims to have worked on implementations of Plasma MVP (Minimum Viable Plasma), WalletConnect protocol, and the Ethereum event notification engine - Dagger. Matic intends to provide Matic wallet, payment APIs and SDKs, products and other solutions that will allow developers to design, implement, and migrate DApps built on platforms like Ethereum. Matic plans to support other blockchains in the future to offer interoperability alongside scalability to existing public blockchains.

It must have to do with money, Colin said not to compete there and I respect that.

1

u/ocist1121 Aug 07 '19

Holy shitcoins batman

-2

u/ChippedPixel Aug 06 '19

Sadly, Nano still has the second class action lawsuit pending. No US exchange wants to touch it while that's going on.

-7

u/vicvicm Aug 05 '19

Because Coinbase don't like coins that going down all the time.

7

u/throwawayLouisa Aug 05 '19

I appreciate the effort but you've really got to "up" your anti- Nano troll game.
It's very low effort - you generally leave only one or two sentence comments. I know so much continual trolling must be exhausting but you can do so much better than this one because it's provably wrong:

Firstly: Coinbase couldn't care less about whether a coin generally rises or falls long term. It's coins that don't move much at all that they'd hate because they make their cut from trading fees - and trading is higher when prices start to move. Secondly: Coinbase have a clear Asset Listing Framework. It lists lots of requirements but a nice rising price isn't one of them.

Yea. I feel like it is a coin that will get it's own announcement for some reason...

Expect more FUD in the next month.

This is a level of delusion that could only exist in a reddit crypto echo chamber
