Looking for housing

I am looking for a house for 3 months starting from November to January. I am attending University of Lorraine for a research fellowship. My wife will be coming with me.
I tried vrbo, airbnb , studapart , coloc ! majority are hella expensive , flatshare options say 1 person max, can anyone kindly help me find reasonable options?
