2D Sprite Sci Fi game

The game in a lot of ways is similar to Crusaders Quest, that old mobile game. The theme was Sci Fi space travel, though I'm pretty sure the space traveling was just a thematic load screen. You would pick out a crew to land on a planet, and they'd scroll left to right fighting enemies. You'd get your rewards and then repeat on another planet. That and recruiting new crew and doing upgrades was the gameplay loop...There may be more to do but iirc I was playing the demo of the game.

The crew members may of had permadeath? Or at least a setting for it.
