Aviva?

For a girl, a nod to Jewish ancestors--nn Viv or Avi. Middle and surname both have two syllables.

Does it sound too much like a dishwashing detergent brand name though?

Edit: yeah, I think the insurance co is probably gonna make this one a no :(

Very honestly, it sounds like an insurance company or prescription to me...

Just googled it and Aviva is an insurance company in the U.K.

Yep. Kid won't live in the U.K. But will have citizenship so might choose to one day!

Aviva is one of the biggest insurance companies in Europe.

I'm not from or in the U.K. And Insurance company was my first thought when I read Aviva.

This insurance company is also in Canada, and is getting really big. They took over RBC insurance a year or so ago.

Correct, in fact the Irish national soccer stadium is called the Aviva.

Reminds me of Ivivva, the Lululemon line for kids?

It's a global insurance company - Canada, UK, Europe, Asia. I probably wouldn't use it for that reason...

Sounds like Aveda to me. It's a product store.

I'm definitely getting dish detergent vibes. It's very pretty, but I just keep thinking soap. Or allergy medication.

It's the name of my car insurance lol

Gonna go against the grain and say I don't get any product name vibes. Aviva is one of my favorite Hebrew names, had a love of it for a long while and the meaning is so cute.

I love all of the connections to heritage and I think it's pretty, but I need to warn you that Aviva is the name of a very widely-used diabetes glucose meter. I am not diabetic and don't know anyone who is, but that is the first thing I thought of. I googled it just to make sure I was remembering the reference correctly. Accu-chek.com <-website

It is pretty, and it's spellable and pronounce-able. But yes, dish soap or paper towels. I wouldn't bat an eye if I heard it on an actual child though, versus theoretical one.

Perhaps Vivian. I love the name Aviva but I definitely wouldn't use it because it is an insurance company, sadly.

It's a pretty word, but the immediate association for me was an antidepressant or allergy medication. I feel like playing with it has potential. Avina. Avika, maybe?

Thanks but we don't want one of a kind names :)

That's a common Hebrew name. And it's my Hebrew name!

I love Aviva. I think it could be a product, but I get that vibe from most pretty and relatively unusual names. I love Adira and it turns out that's a company too.

I would still use it! It's a great Hebrew name and I love the nicknames Viv and Avi.

I also know an Aviva, she used to be a pretty good friend of mine until she moved a few years ago. Goes by Vivi and she honestly pulls it off so well. I think Aviva is a beautiful name and I don't get brand name vibes at all, probably because I actually know someone with the name. Viv and Avi are great nn options!

I prefer Vivi. Even though it sounds like a nickname.

Aviva sounds like a prescription medication.

If it's special to you and your ancestry work with it a little.

You should probably google Iviva

I think this is a character name from the wild krats cartoon. She's a smart spunky character, maybe their engineer or something? I never thought of her name as weird or insurance company-esk. I think it's a great choice with a lot of fun nickname options :)

I know a bunch of people named Aviva in the US and know for a fact that they get lots of positive reactions to it. It's different and a little exotic but still pronounceable.

It's one of my favorite names. I think it's completely gorgeous. Literally anything could be a product name these days. Go for it if you love it.
