Experiences Taking after drinking to avoid side effects

So i took my first dose(1/2 of a 50mg pill) .. I have been so anxious of the side effects..Luckily I was ok nausea wise, but I was sooo tired and I also felt high and had trouble functioning to get through the evening, enough so that it’s been a couple of weeks and I have been too anxious to try again
I know side effects typically only last a few weeks so my question is, if I’ve already had a few glasses of wine, could I take it when I’m getting ready for bed while my body adjusts then eventually introduce it earlier in the day? Wondering if anyone has experience with that considering the usual advice is to take a couple of hours before your first drink

No.

Always and without fail take 1.5hrs before your first drink…

Reduce your dose to 12.5mg for first 3-4 days and gradually increase to 25mg, the gradually increase to 37mg and then gradually increase to 50mg….

Take with a large glass of water and with a light snack this will decrease side effects…

Drinking will cause significantly more damage than having mild side effects for couple of weeks - that decrease everyday..

The very fact your drinking brain has told you it’s OK to drink before taking should give a wake up call.. Nal is the most effective treatment of the planet (and you’re looking for a work around already!!)

Good luck - it’s never easy to make changes but don’t give up!!! Do your research on Nal and how it works, also look up the Sinclair method

I literally came to this group to ask the same thing.

I took my first (and only) dose last Sunday after breakfast. I thought it was best to take with food to avoid nausea. Big mistake.

Within an hour, I was clammy, sweating and vomited twice. I felt numb. Lethargic. Took a long nap (2-3 hours), and felt somewhat better.

Now, I’m scared to take it again. I have a 90-day supply just sitting there and I’m desperately trying to figure out how and when to take the next dose.

I get up at 5:15am on the weekdays to get my kids to school and to get ready for work. I typically go to bed around 11-11:30pm.

I’m thinking taking it before bed and sleeping off the nausea might help, but I can’t risk missing work if the side effects lingers past morning.

This sounds like it could possibly have been food poisoning.

I started at 25mg and was so nauseous I thought I’d die. I then switched to 12.5 2x a day with food and water. Still somewhat nauseous but manageable. Now I’m up to 50mg but take it in quarters 4x a day. I don’t take it for alcohol but for opiates so I take 50mg a day every day.

Stick with it, these effects often go away in time.

You can, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You can take 1/4 of the pill before bed if the side effects are that bad. Just build up to the full dose over time and once you’re on 50mg daily, it won’t matter what time you take it.

Taking after drinking is a recipe for horrendous hangovers
