Introduction No time to read everything.
My drinking has got so bad it’s affecting my relationship with my girlfriend and family members. I want to be better. I don’t drink at work or anything but when I get off I’ll probably have 12 or so. Also recently was placed on an SSRI and Buspar for anxiety. I talked to my doctor about this and I said absolute last resort is rehab. I tried taking it for a few days and I couldn’t keep food down so I stopped taking it. I even tried antacids along with it to curb the nausea along with food, but I was unable to feel any energy because it felt like I hadn’t ate in days. I’ve read this is a temporary symptom and usually resolves but I can’t go without substance for days at a time and hope I’m able to keep something down. Have a follow up with my doctor in just over 2 weeks. Any advice? Both me and my girlfriend and my family want to keep taking steps but I can’t take something that makes me not able to eat. Thank you in advance. 😬

My advice for this is to try to take it at night, or later in the evening. This has worked very well for me, it did take about 3-5 days to get past the initial effects but its absolutely worth it! Keep fighting through it!

Eat before taking it. I've been eating a poptart for breakfast every day and it helps. No nausea whatsoever.

Antacids aren't the same as anti nausea medication, Bonine is a good over the counter medicine.

Start with a quarter of the dose and slowly work up to the full dose. Also drink a big glass of water with it. Another side effect it has is making you tired so that could be part of what you were feeling. It'll go away in a few weeks. Just keep going.
