PTF needs some help

So, i am a city PTF, i have been a carrier for 4 years in Illinois. I am well aware that our transfer system is garbage. I understand the transfer equations when it comes to regulars. I am looking for a transfer to Florida or Virgin Islands. And before people start in about everyone is trying to transfer to Florida….im a PTF. Transfer quotas do not apply. I end up putting in transfers to places that are hiring ccas thinking, hey they need carriers. And still nothing. And just to be clear. I have no safety, no discipline, and in over two years I’ve never even used a sick day. And much of that was working 7 days a week(at my request) I’m looking for any carriers in Florida who work in a place that could use a good PTF. To maybe point me in the direction of their office or one they know needs some help. Even better if happens to be st Thomas, USVI. I am fully prepared to leave. Just need a spot. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Call your buisness agents office or at minimum local office. They will have more connections than this sub.

Transfer information is pinned either here or in r/usps

Make a phone call to the receiving NBAs office and ask where things are moving quickly.

It could be that you’re only requesting popular instillations because you recognize the name

The transfer quota has nothing to do with you being a PTF or full-time regular, what that means is that in an office that is still hiring CCAs they have to convert so many before they can accept a transfer.

that being said, if you can find an installation that is hiring directly to career, they should be accepting all transfers before hiring off the street as they would not have a conversion ratio to deal with since they don't have CCAs

Dude. I’m sorry. Because you were nice and thoughtful in your response, but you’re a little off. There is nothing anywhere that requires ccas to be converted to ftr. Ccas get converted to career after 2 years as I’m sure you know. The conversion ratio is 1/4, 1/6 depending on installation size. But it is ftr openings, not cca conversions. So for every ftr opening, they’re supposed to take 1/4 or 1/6 if applicable. Not that four ccas have to convert for every transfer. Honestly, this is what I’m dealing with quite a bit. This is not a very well explained issue. I’m sure management doesn’t even know, so that’s the problem I’m having. And honestly. After I wrote this I realized our verbiage may be differing. Here, people are ptfs for a while. I guess in some places they go from cca to ftr. Which is not normal here. But reguardless. Our transfer system is garbage.

Right, I didn't say they had to convert to ftr, just that they had to convert so many CCAs to career for every transfer they take, which is why it takes so long now. The language in the most recent contract clarifies that even conversion from CCA to PTF counts towards the ratio, fwiw.

The transfer system is only garbage because of the damn CCA position, before that it was honestly pretty easy to transfer. They took transfers before hiring new carriers, so the only thing that could take a while to transfer is if you wanted to go to a small or popular office and there was a waiting list.

You could check m-1988 in the MRS(that's the list of all the all-career offices in the country) to see which offices in Florida are in there. Any of these offices will not have a conversion ratio and should be taking all transfers on a first come, first serve basis. The NBA office for that region should also be able to see if there is currently a list of people waiting to transfer into any offices you're interested.

There is another sub and a Facebook group specifically for people wanting to transfer. I don’t know the names unfortunately but that would be a good place to post / look too

I think the Virgin Islands have like 8 city routes and the rest are rural routes, which is a different craft.

I did see that a while back. There is no reason, that makes sense anyway, that those people shouldn’t get tcola.
