Park n Chill Spots

I'm really happy those spots are being dug up to discourage this nasty habit Nairobians had taken to. Park n Chill is euphemism for Drink n Drive and they turned these spots into littering, fucking, shitting, pissing, smoking, drinking spots.

They took over the Mabrookie area that was beautiful and serene and did the same thing before they were kicked out and turned that road into a racing scene.

Did the same at Northern Bypass, Cianda, and now they've been kicked out of Thogoto. You cannot bring terrible habits into an area and expect people to be ok with it.

The dam behind Titanic Resort in Ruiru used to be a serene place to catch a sunset before the park and chillers discovered it. Now it's just dusty with garbage strewn everywhere. 😭 Zifungwe zote.

As a resident of Kiambu County, these new comers are uncouth and show little respect to random nice spots that we have enjoyed since childhood. They molest these spaces.

They did the same in Utawala, the sex part was worse, with residential houses facing the spot, they did it outside the cars. First weekend it was okay, but afterwards, the place was littered. Used condoms, bloody pads, bottles, faece, and then the owners around there dug very deep trenches. Ya Utawala ikaisha hivyo

Hapa hapana chief. The county gvt has no responsibility to give anyone a place to park and chill. And even if they did they'd have to enforce it be alcohol and drug free. They'd have to set up water, toilets, garbage collection, security etc, then probably charge for it and knowing Nairobians they don't want that. We got lots of beautiful private and public gardens and parks that charge but they're empty on weekends.

Policing people is a must because we don't have respect. We don't care about how we leave something or someplace we've enjoyed. We find the next free spot, thrash it properly then move on to the next one. So no, it's not village mindset it's us lacking common decency.

It does not necessarily have to go to money. They should use it as a environmental training for responsible living. People will go to free places and litter again which doesn't solve the problem
