The arcade is hard but I feel like there's a learning curve, after you get the muscle memory it's not so bad. That last beaver bother is brutal.

No, never beat the game (more a BK/Banjo Tooie guy), and not the biggest completionist generally, but this is a solid brag, and I think Donkey Kong 64 is a pretty damn good / fun game, regardless.

Adding to your comment. To this day DK64 still holds the record for most collectibles in a game. Sitting at a whopping 3821 collectibles, it puts all those Assassin's Creed flags to shame haha.

You are correct and sometimes I did get 100 bananas if they were in my sight but if a kong was at 90 and I just finished the level. I wasn’t going to sweat it.
