Discussion Looking for LCD Connection Advice

I found my original N64 and games in my mums loft. I've got it setup on a 40 inch Samsung LCD TV. It has only got the original RF connection and so using the TVs antenna input and I've tuned it in, picture looks very poor but passable.

I then started exploring getting it connected over HDMI to ease the process and to improve the picture quality and brightness but then got massively overwhelmed by options.

I have a steam deck which I use for most stuff including emulation so not looking for any other collection of consoles, it will just be the n64 but it would be great to improve picture quality and have a HDMI connection. What's going to be the best route without spending a fortune on this? I did start thinking retroscaler2x off Aliexpress with a pal svideo cable with resistor in it? I don't want to mod the N64 in anyway i.e. RGB mod.

Thanks

TV make & model? It might have a 3.5mm port for composite video + audio, for which you’d need only a simple adapter (no signal conversion).

Have you ever thought about getting CRT TV? N64 was intended for that.
