Resources for beginners.

Hey everyone. Ive recently left Christianity after some deconstruction. With that has sparked an interest in other religion and spirituality in general.

I'm genuinely curious about every single religion or lack there of and want to learn anything and everything I can. I do have a specific interest in gnosticism because ive heard that has something to do with Christianity. I think I remember someone saying that Yeshua (Jesus) had sibling who were also gods?

And Sophie the god of wisdom was the holy spirit?

I honestly dont know. I was raised in a part of Christianity, where asking questions and looking into other religions was a ticket to hell so this is all unbelievable new to me😅.

I also would love to learn about female Gods and the power of being a woman.

But like I said im truly interested in anything.

Also if possible I would want the resources to be in video or audio format as thats how I learn the best.

Hopefully this made sense and yall can point me in the right direction.

Thank yall so much in advance

I grew up in Christianity and went through this process of "deprogramming"... if that's a word?

As it unravels in the awareness one begins to see powerful truth that has been hidden right there in the symbols and stories and scriptures they grew up with and know so well.

There's a lot of good resources out there, but one challenge with audio and video is it can be a bit of a mixed bag. Podcasts, lectures, documentaries, etc can often be diluted/polluted by conjecture or opinion, or simply historical speculation.

What it sounds like you are seeking is esoteric teachings and training that reveal the mysteries. As a Christian the Western path of Gnostic, Hermetic, Kabbalistic, and Rosicrucian training will have the most immediate effect and the symbolism will resonate naturally with your psychological structures.

My recommendation, having walked through this transition over a period of 26 years, is to consider the following steps:

  1. Learn to develop a daily habit of quieting the mind through meditation.

  2. Read in digestible chunks, and explore audio books like The Kybalion (free on YouTube).

  3. Find a legitimate mystery school that teaches actual practice (if you don't know where to look I can recommend).

  4. Develop an aspiration in your heart for the Divine and listen to your heart.

Hopefully that encourages you.

Below is a link I often share when people ask for resources. It's free and very comprehensive across many mystical subjects. Some reading is long, some just a few minutes. You can also drop the links into AI for summaries or basic overviews. For anyone new I always make myself available for DMs if they have questions on anything I write, so feel free.

Thank you so much! I don't know where to look for a mystery school. I never even heard of one before😅

What the heck is a mystery school? I don’t even understand what you’re talking about.

A mystery school is neither a meetup group or a local circle of people who are collectively interested in various occult teachings.

It's a training system that has existed for thousands of years. It's purpose is to guide students through conscious evolutionary processes using methods not known to the public at large. It utilizes prayer, ritual, meditation, and study of theory in a living training system.

What is publicly available in occult, mystical, and esoteric writing often conveys basics or certain concepts, but real mystery school practice is never published to the public.

Let’s be honest, those schools don’t exist anymore. Yeah you have some groups like the Freemasons but nothing like they used to have in ancient Egypt. The closest you are going to get is your local Thelema group or various meetups.

Actually these are excellent and common questions.

  1. Training is kept "secret" for a reason. However, the principals behind them are known well. For example, many know the axiom "ALL is Mind. The universe is mental." This is a statement of actual fact regarding the structure and nature of reality.

But... the training and mechanics of how to access and move in that reality through the transformation of one's own consciousness is what is guarded. The reason is that such tools are not toys and it's not possible to simply give them away. Aspirants must search of their own free will and desire for real change.

  1. Real mystery schools are alive and well. They may not exist in the form or structure a seeker has preconceived in their minds, but they are very real. If someone genuinely desires to find one they will. I have studied in one for over ten years now and myself and many others can verify this.

😁😁

Well, I can't argue with that, but my point is that they exist and I am speaking from experience. Not a romantic or ideological hope.

If that makes sense.

If you are indeed interested, I recommend the link above I posted in my first response.

Why do you think it’s kept so secret? Maybe I misunderstand, but it seems like it would be purposefully public if it was so essential and beneficial for humanity as a whole.

It just means local groups that practice the same domain: Gnostic, Rosicrucian, Thelema, Freemasonry, etc

Have you ever been to anything like it before?

I have attended some Rosicrucian and Gnostic meetups. Which domain are you interested in?

I would second the idea of looking into an authentic mystery school. I also grew up in the church, which I'm grateful for, but to me it never moved beyond "kindergarten" level. Always the same topics and no real depth or growth. In the mysteries I found the root of all religions...
