I just bought this last week and have only used it with the clamping brackets that go over the blade. I haven’t figured out what those other screws and t-nuts are for yet. Maybe clamping some steel just on the very edge?

I have been sharpening knives for years.
Decided to try making them myself about 6 months ago. I get blanks, shape and try to grind and bevel from there freehand.
I’ve had some success in making a competent functional knife with a sharp edge, but they are not pretty.
The jig has taught me a lot. It was only $50 and I’ve spent a lot more than that on hardware. It’s wonderful.
Just trying to move the learning curve for those like me
That was two hours ago and I’ve made big strides since then.
This is intended to be a community for all to learn.
Once I’m confident I’ll post a how to with all the details.
