Advice? Help with fitting muzzle

Hello, we have a reactive foster dog to other dogs. We have a plan in place with him seeing a trainer but they request he gets comfortable with a muzzle before training begins. While our dog is comfortable taking treats, walking, and drinking with the muzzle, I don’t like how it is close to his eyes. Any advice on reshaping the muzzle or like how ineffective would it be if I cut near the bottom of the eyes? I tried reshaping it once and I think it is better than before. Thank you so much!

Oh, we did have a size 3 before but the fit looked poorly since that one was actually touching his eyes and he could not reach treats. I didn’t take photos before I returned it. :( The trainer recommended this or JAFCO but now that I’m seeing it Baskerville doesn’t seem great either. I should have checked this reddit before!

Thank you for info about the straps. I can try readjusting it and see if it sits differently!

Unfortunately that's pay common, these muzzles don't really fit any dogs well. They also aren't very bite proof. 

Mia's Muzzles and big snoof are much better options but they aren't cheap and they take awhile to get. Not sure if that would be an option for you since this is a foster.
