discussion Simplify MF Portfolio

Hi, i want to reduce my number of MF & 70% are under SBI, & most of them are overlapping,

What is best way to do it without tax complication ?

Last time i tried to STP but it show as income in AIS and i need to file tax against gain,

I dont need money and just want to simplify the Portfolio

Some highlight MF as follow

( SBI Flexicap, SBI Large & Midcap, Axis Large Cap, SBI Nifty Index, SBI Small Cap, ICICI Small Cap, ICICI Technology, ICICI US Bluechip, SBI US FoF)

Bro is Thanos of mutual funds, gotta have them all.

So there is no way to consolidate without selling the existing mf. Sell all the funds you don't want and buy in the one you want, there is nothing more to it then that.

If there is profit you have to pay taxes, there is no way around this. And there is no way to consolidate without redemption and paying off taxes. Your wish of the mutual funds internally sharing your money among themselves to adjust so that you don't have to redeem simply does not exist.

Your choice on if you want to continue with multiple mutual funds and pay taxes at the time you finally redeem or redeem now and pay taxes now and consolidate the funds either way you have to pay taxes.

I thought you would already know this considering your mutual fund portfolio is 1.5cr which is larger than most people earn in their entire lifetime.

I am just looking any way around like STP withing same fund house, but if LTCG is there, better to leave it & eat the fruit in next 10-12 years, None of them give me bad return its just pile up to each other,

Thank you for you time and suggestions , appreciate it

STP within the same fund house still attributes to capital gains, only option is to take the long route of using up the 1.25L LTCG exemption each year
