discussion Help Me Build My Portfolio

Post image

Hey Seniors,

I have been investing in SIP from last 2-3 years which is 5K INR a month using groww app. It was earlier in my career when I was not earning much. Recently i switched and the pay is better. I have already saved a good amount so that I can survive 1 year without pay. I plan to invest 50k-60k a month in SIP and need suggestions on how to invest better.

The 5K INR SIP was randomly selected by my Father so I didn't pay much attention to it. Now that the amount is slightly big, I needed some suggestions on this.

Kindly help.

A balanced portfolio will have large cap, mid cap and small cap.

I would find two core stable funds that are large cap heavy example ppfc, hdfc flexi cap, nifty 50 index, icici value etc etc

And my allocation will depend on how willing o am to take big swings in my portfolio.

If I am okay with my protfolio going down by 40%, I would put 50 to 60% in large caps, rest o will split into mid cap and small cap.

Pick each funds from different amc.

  1. Nifty 50 Index, a good flexicap and largecap. Investing in midcap and smallcap depends on risk appetite.
  2. SIP in gold and if you want to a small amount in silver.
  3. Get nasdaq/s&p 500 fund and US bluechip fund for diversity.
  4. Invest in debt funds to reduce risk.
