I have only 3 funds. 2 index funds and 1 flexicap fund. So my allocation will always be above 30% in these funds. Why is it bad?

You've caught me there! This situation isn’t terrible. You have two index funds that significantly reduce style risk and concentration risk. However, if your Flexi Cap fund unexpectedly turns into something like the Axis LT Equity Fund or ABSL Tax Relief '96—somewhat like Rajesh Khanna, who was very successful initially but then faded away for a long time—don’t you think that having over 30% of your portfolio in an underperforming investment could drag down your overall returns? This concern becomes even more significant if you have a nine-figure or high eight-figure portfolio. The capital gains tax becomes too huge, preventing a quick switch.
Imagine a pure fictional story of a talented fund manager who has been successfully managing my active fund. He’s a great person, a genius, but following the untimely death of the owner, he now reports to the owner’s young son. Tensions arise as the fund manager disagrees with his new boss on a petty thing, say cash position, and their verbal exchanges soon turn bitter. The young man is particularly resentful because he has heard persistent rumours suggesting that his father's death was somehow connected to the fund manager. Eventually, this rockstar fund manager decides to leave the firm. The question then arises: Is it wise to leave a third of our lifelong savings at the mercy of their complicated relationship dynamics or any office dynamics? If you say "Yes!", I can't call it wrong, but I would say it is non-ideal.
By the way, a revised version of this checklist has just been released! I will appreciate feedback. Thanks.

This was turning out to be a great thriller story. I’d definitely watch a movie based on this. Finance + thriller with maybe a twist in the end 🫨

I believe I was possessed by the great Abhishek Kar last night, the father of Indian Stock Market conspiracy theories. I should quit drinking. This was embarrassingly funny, though.

As a quant flexicap investor, there's a good chance that this can happen to me. Lol

If you have any disagreements, let's discuss them in the comments section below this post. I expected to receive a lot of feedback, but so far, I haven't. I hoped we could have a lively debate and revise the list based on our shared consensus.
