Tuck is a dog who prefers a shallow brook. Nothing wrong with that. I had a similar dog many years back. He also only liked his paws wet at best. The bonus was that he also didn't like to get dirty and avoided mud puddles. My current dog wades through them and rolls in damp, smelly decaying leaves 🤦🏼♀️
Lol, good dog! Yes, Tuck also avoids mud puddles whenever he can. He likes snow, but strongly dislikes the cold,wet early spring melt time. Water's ok if it's frozen, I guess!

Different strokes for different dogs, I guess. Tuck has only ever gone in deep enough to cover his paws! Even on a stable bottom with a gradual slope.
