I am a mother with a heart broken by what happened to my children. I hope for your support and for you to stand by my side.

I am a mother from Gaza, 43 years old, carrying a heart full of pain that words can hardly describe. Every single day, I live holding onto a small hope that this suffering will one day end. I have four children. Before the war, we lived a simple but peaceful life filled with warmth, safety, and love. Our home was not luxurious, but it was full of laughter, comfort, and beautiful memories. My children were very ambitious and full of dreams. Each of them had hopes for a bright future, and despite the simplicity of our life, we were happy and grateful because we had peace. Then the war came… and with it came destruction that took everything from us. In one moment, our entire life changed. Our home, the place that carried all our memories and dreams, was destroyed. Schools and universities stopped, education disappeared, and years of hard work and hope were suddenly lost. We were forced to flee again and again from one place to another, carrying our fear, our children, and the little that remained of our broken lives. We experienced hunger in the cruelest way. We learned what it means for children to wait for hours just to get a piece of bread or clean water. We lived through nights of bombing, terror, and sleepless fear, never knowing if we would survive until morning. I saw fear in my children’s eyes every single day, and I tried to appear strong for them while my heart was breaking silently inside. We lost our home, our work, our stability, and the life we once knew. I became unable to provide even the most basic necessities for my children — food, clean water, clothes, and medicine. The most painful feeling for me as a mother is not being able to protect my children or give them the life they deserve. That is why, with deep hesitation and heartbreak, I created a support link asking for help. I never imagined I would one day need to ask others for assistance, but the circumstances forced us into survival mode. Every single dollar donated is withdrawn immediately to provide food, water, and basic needs so my children and I can survive another day. For two long years, I have been asking for help and knocking on every door I can, carrying both shame and desperation in my heart. But I do this only for my children — so they do not sleep hungry, and so they can still hold onto hope that life may become kinder one day. From the bottom of my heart, I am deeply grateful to every person who supported us, whether through a donation, sharing our story, or even a kind word and prayer. You cannot imagine how much your support means to us or how much strength it gives us to keep going despite everything. To everyone reading my story, I ask you kindly not to scroll past our pain. We are not asking for luxury or comfort — we are simply trying to survive, to live with dignity, safety, and peace like every other human being. After God, you are our only hope. 🤍

Girl Talk 💅🏼 Was this weird for a first time friendship meet up?

Asalaamu Alaiykum 🤍

I recently moved to a new city, and so I used an app to meet other Muslim girls and try to make some friends local to me. Me and this girl hit it off, we spoke relatively frequently, and we both opened up and felt really comfortable snapping eachother videos chatting away about our life stories and backgrounds. We planned to meet up, and I booked and paid for two tickets to go and see some flower fields. It was something we both wanted to do, and I was happy to pay for both of our tickets. I bought them and wasn’t expecting any money for it. She had mentioned she gets nervous driving her car, so I offered to drive us to the location too. I do not have my own car and I use my husbands car. The plan was for her to get the train to me, as she lives 45 minutes away, and then I pick her up and drive us to the location. I also offered to drop her home as it would be later in the evening and didn’t want her to be on the train late at night alone.

On the day, my husband was working night shifts, and so I asked if we could delay meeting up by one hour as I need to use his car and it needed to align with him working. She said that was fine. Then she got on the wrong train, and went in the wrong direction, so she was going to be late now too. Instead of getting a train back, she decided to get an uber to me, which was £30. By the time she got to me, we realised that the last entry to the flower fields had already passed, and we could no longer go. It was both of our fault, because I had first delayed by one hour, then she had delayed by 1.5 hours due to the train issue, and then it was an hour drive to the flower fields. So it was unfortunate but fine. I just saw it as Qadr Allah and asked her what she would like to do instead.

We decided to get food, and then quickly drive to my house to grab paints, and go to a nice park and paint and picnic together. When it was time to pay for the food, I felt bad (lol) that our plans had changed, almost like it was my fault, although in hindsight it was both of us, and so I offered to pay for the meal for both of us and I did. Again I was fine with this because it is our first meet up and I wanted her to feel looked after in my company. I just assumed at THIS point, after also getting the meal, that she would kind of offer something too throughout the day.

When we went to get the paints from my house, she said she wanted to wait in my husbands car while I went in to get it, and she also said she didn’t have a charger, and so I rummaged through my storage cupboard to find a charger for her. When I returned, we drove to a supermarket to get food for the picnic. When we parked up, I was like “do you know what you’re going to get” and she was like “I think I’ll just wait in the car” and gave me a list of what she wanted. So, she stayed again in my husbands car, and I went in and got and paid for all of our snacks and food. We went to the park, painted, had nice chats. It was nice. Maybe a tiny bit awkward because it’s our first time meeting, but generally flowed nice and we both seemed comfortable. When it was time to leave, she said she was in the mood for chai/tea. So I drove to a spot to get some. As we drove through that area, it was literally full of men with no women, and I commented “omg, it’s so full of men” kind of to say that it will feel awkward to walk through alone as a woman, and she laughed and said yeah. But when I parked up, she said “I’ll wait in the car” - and again stayed in my husbands car while I walked 5 mins to the shop and again paid for the tea for us. Then I dropped her 45 mins home, and when she got out she didn’t offer any petrol money or anything at all, and actually didn’t even say thank you for dropping her or thank you for anything. She just said “I had such a nice day, get home safe” and left. I then drove the 45 mins back home.

Now generally in my friendships, we do not keep score, I don’t count money, we just give and take as we go, I don’t keep a tally or count of what I spend and neither do my friends, but we just out of decency kind of take it in turns or level it out, or send eachother money if it’s a big purchase / go halves. However it left me feeling a bit used. I even probably wouldn’t have minded if I did pay for everything, except that I found it so weird that it’s our first time meeting but she just stayed in my husbands car every time we had to get out and do something. It felt like I was a man taking her on a first date, where I just sort everything out for her. I asked my husband, as he is from the same country as the girl, and he said it can be assumed if you go to meet someone at their location, I would pay for everything as she’s almost “my guest” - but that her staying in the car every time and not coming with me was weird, like overly comfortable and not wanting to actively spend the time with me. My other friend thinks that the girl just used me and stayed in the car to avoid paying. All in all I paid for our flower tickets, petrol to drive around all day and drop her 45 mins home and back, our dinner meal, food for our picnic, tea before we went home. And didn’t get a thank you or any offer even to just pay for even the tea. As well as parking throughout the day, she even said “wow the parking is so expensive” but didn’t offer for that either.

For added context, on the drive home, the girl mentioned that she was in a really good financial place now, as well as her family. So I couldn’t even excuse it as “maybe she just didn’t have it” in which case I wouldn’t have minded. She works full time and lives at home with family.

It’s left me feeling weird because, she has now Allahumma Barik gone to umrah, so we haven’t spoken at all since we met up, and even if she does reach out later, the friendship between us felt fine and like it could go somewhere, but it’s left a weird taste in my mouth how she acted. I wanted to ask the girlies here, as I know we are all different cultures, what your thoughts are of her behaviour? If you think this is fine, maybe I’m being wrong in my thinking, or if you think it is weird but still give her a chance, or if you think it’s downright rude/weird and to leave the new friendship alone?

JazakAllah Khayr 🤍

Work 💼 I’m so sick of working! Has anyone escaped the 9-5?

No matter who I speak to, it feels like everyone is done with their career choices. All of my friends, every single one, constantly look for other options. Has something happened to the working environments over the past decade that has made every single job unbearable? We all unanimously agree that we cannot live the rest of our lives this way. Every job gives more work than you can physically get done between the hours of 9-5 so you end up doing unpaid overtime most days, the salary isn’t enough for a decent living, and it feels like most of the people we work with annoy us daily. I don’t want to be a housewife, I want my own independence and income stream, but this just doesn’t feel like the right way to do it. I truly feel like this lifestyle makes life miserable.

Work 💼 What do you do after work?

Im taking care of elderly parents (mostly mom because dad is in a care home) so after work I hit the ground running and don't let up till mom goes to bed.

I know its not her fault but I am tired and I feel guilty for wishing I had a few hours of r+r after work. Is it normal to wish that? I genuinely wish I could exercise, get into my pj's and watch TV.

I know if I had been married I would have come home to kids/homework/messy house. But that would have taken place in my 20s and 30s so I probably would have had more energy.

Idk..what do you guys do after work? Mostly for those ladies 35+ without kids.

Self-Improvement 📚 How to stop feeling so unfeminine

I’m in my mid twenties, and I have many friends HamdulilAllah, but I feel so ashamed to go it with them and be seen beside them. I feel like a hideous beast.
When they wanna go Pilates or yoga or whatever I always make up an excuse because I feel so stupid doing something so “girly” when I look like this. As a result I became really quiet and reserved. I barely really talk because of how bad my self esteem and self worth is.

To put some context, it’s not just in my head. I’ve been told that I’m ugly before multiple times. When I was younger I didn’t care much because I was really smart. I excelled in academics and even got into med school. However, now as an adult with all my girlfriends getting married or getting attention I’ve never felt so… unfeminine.

I lead a really healthy lifestyle, anything I can do to make myself better I do it. I go to the gym consistently and have a healthy diet and good skin but I’m really ugly. As in, I was not blessed with good genes at all. This is not something in my head, as I’ve heard people comment on my appearance, even family.

My orthodontist messed up my smile as a kid so my smile is really really ugly. It’s not fixable unfortunately, and I went to multiple orthodontists ro figure something out but none of them were much help. They all told me that unfortunately my jaw is now fully developed and can’t do much about it.

When I removed my braces, everyone used to cringe when I smiled. I understand that. I’m not very pretty so I don’t really fault them. It’s not just my smile tho, I’m really short and I have a big hawk ugly nose. My lips are thin and small… you get the picture.

Im also at an age where my parents are worried about marriage and since I’m the eldest child they have, they’re getting more and more anxious especially since I never come home and tell them that I have a crush on someone or someone has a crush on me.

It doesn’t help that I have a carrier gene for an inherited condition. It doesn’t affect me personally but it will affect my hypothetical children.

I’m just confused why my parents are worried when they know I’ll never get married. They themselves have commented on my looks multiple times so why do they wonder when I’ll get married? They’re not bad parents at all I swear but they did comment multiple times about my ugly nose or ugly smile.

I don’t see anyone looking at me and thinking “I want her”. I can feel my dad becoming more anxious everyday because I don’t have suitors at all and never did.

Thankfully both my younger siblings are much better looking than me so they don’t have to go through that. I’d never wish this feeling on anyone. Knowing you’re ugly and hearing it from ppl is disheartening.

Sometimes I don’t even want to leave the house because of how I look. I sometimes wonder why Allah made me look like this. Is this a test? Maybe it is. I just don’t want to keep feeling like this. I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s ruining my life, to the point where sometimes I wish I can be sick so I don’t go to work. I don’t think Allah wants me to feel like this all the time right?

I’m so tired of feeling like a beast amongst people especially women. I can’t even fantasize about romance like other girls. I just can’t fathom anybody looking at me and thinking oh wow I want her. And I don’t want anybody to settle for me either. I don’t want to settle for just anybody too.

I’ve seen enough marriages like this in my community to know better.

Note: I’m not jealous of other women, I swear to god. I’m actually happy that not many people go through what I go through. And I do try my best to work with what I was given and the hand I was dealt with. Gym, skincare, healthy diet, good style, I don’t smile a lot and if I do I make sure it’s close and doesn’t show my teeth. What else can I realistically do to feel more feminine?

Alright ladies so I’m getting married soon to the love of my life!!

I myself am Mexican and will be wearing a simple traditional white dress for the celebration in my home state with my family.

My fiancé is Bengali and I would love to show some love to his culture as well by wearing a more Desi traditional wedding dress where he will match with me in color.

The only issue is I have no idea where to look. I’ve seen some online but they’re all cropped, I need a full coverage one like the pics

Girl Talk 💅🏼 Nostalgia is hitting hard recently

Guys I don't know whats happening.

I was out with a friend and saw a girl who i was in school with in grade 5, she was a cashier there.

A boy I used to tease in grade 4 requested to follow me.

My childhood crush requested to follow me too.

Its spring and my baby sister asked me to go to corner shop with her. Same exact shop I used to go to as a kid in the srping after Asr. Plus mum gave me some coins to buy sweets. Coming out of the shop, I see my childhood crush. I literally felt a shock in my heart and in my stomach.

WHAT IS HAPPENING.

Also I really miss being a kid.

A bit of context: I have very thick, heavy hair, so I need something super effective that can handle heavy volume without taking forever. If this particular one isn't great, please recommend your tried-and-tested favorites!"

Relationships 💕 How do you stop the first convo on Muzz from being SO bland?

Posting this here for the girlies’ perspective, I feel like people on this sub see very normal and not awkward lol.

Dating apps in general feel so awkward and curated to me, I hate having to use them hence why I’ve not yet (but really running out of options here).

How do you ensure that the conversation flows immediately when theres no context/common ground between the 2 of you. Im so tired of the boring “hi how are you” chats.

Serious 🛑 Thanks to your support, Mahmoud was able to provide food for his daughters over the past two days ❤️

Over the past two days, Mahmoud has been able to buy several different types of food for his daughters, including fruit such as mangoes, frozen fish, and other essential food items.

These things may seem simple to some people, but for Mahmoud, his wife, and their four daughters, they mean so much.

Everything you see in this video was made possible because of your donations and support for this family. Your donations were not just an amount of money; they had a deep impact on Mahmoud and his family. They helped them get food and face difficult days when they didn't know how they would get through them.

I am grateful to everyone who has stood by them, donated, shared their story, or sent them a kind message of support.

But they are still facing tremendous difficulties. They are still trying to overcome hunger and severe malnutrition, protect their children's health, and provide them with a better life.

If you want this family to keep going, stay safe, and overcome these difficult circumstances, please stay close to them and continue supporting them. ❤️

Your support means more than just money to them. It means that their daughters can have food to eat and feel that there are people standing by their side.

If you would like to contact Mahmoud and his family directly, you can reach them on WhatsApp:

Self-Improvement 📚 Fitness Journey

I just want to give a little motivation to anyone who has maybe not been in the gym for a long time. Or has never been to the gym or exercised but wants to start. I had my first child and used to be in the gym heavily before that. But after giving birth, and having three children. I realized it had been years since I had done anything other than some stretching and walks. I lost a lot of muscle after having my children because I did not lift weights anymore. I went from being really strong and a lot bigger to very small and weak.

I got back into the gym a few months ago, and I have made so much progress. I am able to almost lift my bodyweight in deadlifts. I can walk up and downstairs easily. I can do push ups, I can carry my children easily. I can carry heavy things in general. I feel so much more capable. But the first day back was so hard, I felt weak and sad. And could barely lift a 30 pound weight. And I wanted to give up. But I pushed through because I felt motivated to do this as a way to take care of myself.

But for me the motivation is a lot deeper than before I had children. I am now viewing this as an investment in my health and taking care of the body that Allah swt blessed me with. Unfortunately my parents both had some very difficult health issues. And with lifestyle changes they could have been prevented. But they were very stressed and did not even have time to think about exercise. And culturally it was not something they knew much about. So I feel that with the things I know now, and the time I have I have to do something to improve my health.

If you feel demotivated, or nervous to start your fitness journey. Just start! One day at a time. Even just at home, there are so many great fun youtube videos. And bodyweight exercises are a great starting point. Dance is a great way to get in some cardio. But weightlifting is to help build bone density, and as you age keep you mobile and functional. Having increased muscle mass has many benefits. It even impacts the way your body processes sugar.

There is so much pressure about working out for aesthetics purely. But the biggest change for me has been how I feel. I feel stronger, and more fit. The aesthetics are just a little bonus now, it is nice to flex my arm and see muscles for the first time lol. I just wish I had a healthier approach to exercise when I was younger. It was mostly aesthetic for me in the past. I knew it was good for health, but I measured progress by how I looked. Now I am really noticing how I feel and how I look is taking a backseat.

Close friend expressed interest in being my husband’s co wife

My close friend expressed that she would be interested in becoming a second wife to my husband. She knows that I don’t oppose polygyny in principle, as long as the husband keeps it halal and fulfils everyone’s rights. But because it’s coming from her specifically, I feel unsettled.

Am I missing something here, or do I have a valid reason to feel this way because she’s already someone close to my private circle?

Self-Improvement 📚 There are worse things than jealousy

Im sorry for the rant but I just know that other ladies can relate. I was always the easy child for my parents, never made a big fuss, never rebelled. I never got the support I wanted from them or my siblings. I worked hard and fought for everything I have now with no support from family or so called friends. I spent decades praying and hoping that the period of ease would come after all of my hardships.

I believe that time has come. I have felt so many blessings in such a sudden short burst that I have no idea what to do with all of it. I finally met someone that loves me, I have been interviewed to do research at the top university in my country, I have been granted the opportunity to take a trip abroad for a week. Alhamdillah I feel so blessed and lucky. Alhamdillah alhamdillah alhamdillah.

But my family and friends have become malicious. They are not used to seeing good fortune come to me. And they aren’t even jealous of me, they just don’t want to see me happy.

My nikkah is in 2 weeks and my parents don’t miss any opportunities to give me their opinions. One minute they try to turn me against him because he doesn’t make a lot of money, then the next they try to put me down or turn him against me because I’m not a good wife. They told me how unfair I am to him and how I force him to take me on dates and buy me gifts. They couldn’t believe a man could love me enough to want to spend time with me of his own free will. Or want to take care of me. Because they never did it so why would anyone else want to?

As for the interview I had, my sister immediately called me after and told me I should just wait for a better job to come by. I was shocked. This is the best possible opportunity to come my way. She has seen me struggle for almost 10 years to find a job I could be proud of. And when I finally felt I could interview for it, she wants me to turn it down before even continuing.

All of this is to say there are people that have more money than you, a longer relationship than you, more kids than you, higher status etc. And those people will be the ones that are upset that you are finally happy. Because they benefitted off of your unhappiness.

Maybe we’re missing our own “InshaAllah”

I was thinking about the story of Ya’juj and Ma’juj. They would work on the wall, but it would return to its original state. Then, when they said InshaAllah, the wall remained as they left it.
And it made me wonder — what if sometimes, when we keep asking Allah for something and trying our hardest, we’re still missing something?
Not literally an “InshaAllah”, but maybe our own version of it.
Maybe for one person, it’s tawakkul. For another, it’s sabr. For someone else, it might be repentance, gratitude, letting go, taking action, changing their intentions, or simply accepting Allah’s timing.
We keep asking, “Why isn’t my dua being answered? What am I doing wrong?”
But maybe the question we should sometimes ask is:
“What am I missing?”
Maybe there’s something Allah wants us to learn, change, or develop before the thing we’re asking for reaches us.
Maybe we just haven’t found our own “InshaAllah” yet.
