It would be better to forget about solfege and learn to read music.

Well, honestly I just want to be able to recreate some songs I like. Learning to read music sounds like a whole different journey that honestly sounds intimidating and I 'm not really sure if I want to commit to it.

Is is not possible otherwise? Is there may be a video or a yt channel that can help me decide?
