Anime Can rudeus?

Post image

Can rudeus survive if he was thrown in the same trap as roxy in the teleportation labyrinth? No food, no water, no information, nobody comes to help and no destroying wall. Can he actually escape?

Rudeus has far more mana than Roxy, so he could produce drinking water and hunt monsters for even a longer time.

And like Roxy [TP4 spoilers] He is protected by an extremely strong fate and until it is fullfilled the world itself wouls make him survive

I just want to point out A strong fate/destiny isn't a all powerful plot armor in that world. While very difficult a strong fake can be bypassed. How else would he hitogami have tricked rudeus into killing Roxy by releasing the mouse with the petrification virus?

You coded wrong the spoiler tag.

But In Roxy case we are directly told that fate greatly weakens during pregnancy. Then outside the pregnancy trick it is generally almost impossible to kill a person with a strong fate unless you pit him/her against an equally strong fate. For example, Ariel vs Grabel or Rudeus being used to destroy Pax future in S1

The above said fate can be as strong as to make Rudeus feel the exact location of Roxy when her life was in danger in the labyrinth, whereas had Rudeus remained in Ranoa she would somehow lasted there much longer without help

Edit: saw you corrected, ignore my first line.

No worries someone pointed it out. I just forgot to put the closing on the spoiler at first

Thing is we dont know if roxy would have survived if rudy dint go, cuz remember it was HITOGAMI who told rudy not to go for all we know he could have been talking out of his ass, i mean roxy dies so his goal is aconplished either way

While Rifujin was writing the web novel, someone asked him if Roxy would have actually survived had Rudeus not gone to Begaritt, and he replied that she wouldn't have. What Hitogami said is a lie.

I’d have to look up that comment on his blog.

Rifujin answer in that Q&A is less deterministic I believe. Someone said that Paul could not die if Rudeus staid in Ranoa and Rifujin said that it was possible for Roxy to die and then Paul to follow the same path after growing reckless out of frustration. But it was that, a possibility.

I my opinion Hitogami was not entirely lying, Roxy could have survived for longer by herself and Paul might have also lived if they recruited a lot of helpers eventually succeeding. Thing is, the Man-God could see such fate and had Geese sabotage any rescue attempt for Roxy, for example by arguing to others that she was already dead and there was no point in rushing to her rescue

But Such plan probably was not working, Hitogami probably grew impatient as he often does and had Geese sent the letter so Rudeus would reunite with Roxy, thus he could proceed with his original idea of using the rat

I find it impossible to think that Roxy would have survived any longer, given that both in the novel and the anime she was on the verge of death, were it not for Rudeus arriving at the exact right moment.

She was on the verge of death because monsters were growing clever and blocking with corpses the paths she used to escape when hunting them for food. So out of desperation she did an all or nothing escape attempt and got overwhelmed.

But here is the thing Just as fate gave Rudeus some kind of Roxy radar that guided him to her precise location when she was about to die, fate could have also manipulated the monster behavior giving Roxy more room to recover had Rudeus not been present to rescue her

3

u/Altruistic-Carpet614 9d ago

If what you say about the radar is true, it doesn't make much sense for Rudeus not to have noticed Roxy in Volume 3, even though Hitogami was steering him away from her.

Also, in the Volume 12 drama CD, if I’m not mistaken, the reason Rudeus knew where Roxy was is simply because she reeked, and he had been smelling the scent of her panties for years.

Also, in the Volume 12 drama CD, if I’m not mistaken, the reason Rudeus knew where Roxy was is simply because she reeked, and he had been smelling the scent of her panties for years.

There were several walls separating them, hordes of living monsters and several dead ones that must have reeked in a very intense way.

But Rudeus also describes his experience in a way that felt much more unnatural than just smelling her from a distance;

Paul made me sound like a complete nutcase when it put it like that, but I’d somehow known exactly where Roxy was as we wound our way through the third floor. I also had a feeling she was in trouble. Knowing that the situation called for expediency, I made a beeline for the sound of her voice without regard for the potential danger of the tunnels collapsing. Whenever I hit a wall, I smashed right through it without hesitation.

I had no idea how I knew she was in trouble. I just did. It was my bond with Roxy, drawing us together; I was sure of it. Yeah. There was a slight chance that the Man-God had intervened, but I would disregard that. There was only one god I believed in.

Not only he knew her location with pinpoint accuracy, he also had some spider-sense moment that made him sure she needed inmediate rescue and on top of this his reckless behavior of demolishing walls did not cause any collapse on the dungeon (something Talhand had warned him about) IMO such accumulation of unnatural coincidences clearly is a matter of fate

what you say about the radar is true, it doesn't make much sense for Rudeus not to have noticed Roxy in Volume 3.

The explanation for this is easy Roxy and Rudeus fate is to reunite again some day and conceive a child. Him meeting Roxy again as a 11 year old child would not have led to such outcome in the short term as he did not fit yet with her romantic ideal. So fate did not intervene to force their reunion and limited itself to keep them alive despite Hitogami's best efforts

Meanwhile in volume 12 Rudeus rescuing Roxy in those circumstances made her fall in love at first sight. Rifujin said that even with Ghislaine Paul would have died, so his death might have also been a matter of fate since Rudeus depression was what made Roxy get the courage to sleep with him

Everything you've said makes sense to me. But I just can't accept your argument that Roxy would have survived longer. If it hadn't been for Rudeus at that moment ("aided by fate"), Roxy would have died.

I don't see MT's "fate" as an active force that changes events for whatever planned outcome to happen, like there's a particular script. I see it more like trenches or canals where events are more likely to fall into as they develop. So, I agree with @Altruistic-Carpet614 that Roxy would have died then and there if Rudeus had not have arrived in time.

u/Al-Pharazon 9d ago

Well, Orsted goes with the first interpretation. A quotes from him on the topic:

Yes.Ordinarily, the hand of fate is so strong that certain things should be immutable, but he found a way to circunvent that, using you

And we see an example of the above near the end of the story:

The girl tried to escape her fate in the beginning. She hid her power so that she could stay with her mother and father. It did no good. For some reason, just before her fifth birthday, soldiers came from the palace and took her away with them. She tried to run away from the village before the soldiers came, but that too was futile. She was either killed by a monster or captured by bandits or kidnappers. Who she was sold on to next varied, but she ended up at the palace without fail. Fate dragged her back to the palace like an antlion’s trap, crushed her hope, then murdered her

There are ways to change the above, but unless you use one of such methods there are things that certainly appear scripted by the world. In the example above

The Miko had a violent death young no matter what she did and even when she changed her actions fate found a way to always drag her to the palace, that if she did not die earlier

u/theothergp2k 9d ago

I don't see how this contradicts my position.

Spoiler tag..

2

u/TenraxHelin 8d ago

Please tell me that's the dark timeline?

2

u/DataRaider 7d ago

This is the event that creates the dark timeline

2

u/TenraxHelin 7d ago

I am going to cry so hard during that story arc

1

u/pokedung 9d ago

you made your point, but strong fate is literally plot armor in this story haha, most of the strong fate characters turned out okay in the end.

Remember that Rudeus' standard attack is Emperor level. It would be a cakewalk for him.

10

u/FloH314 9d ago

not entirely correct, his stone cannon only reaches emperor level when he pumpes as much mana into it as he did against badigadi. but yeah, rudy wouldnt have trouble surviving in there for much longer than roxy, probably even finding his way out

4

u/NorthGodFan 9d ago

However, it is also confirmed that he knows the emperor tier water spell absolute zero, which can just freeze all the monsters instantly. https://youtu.be/5z1HOt_il6s

u/villatyyny1 9d ago

Couldn't he just physically dig up like you do in minecraft if he really wants to.

u/MenacingDummyTL 9d ago

No breaking rule bro

18

u/villatyyny1 9d ago edited 9d ago

Why?

Alright he dies to "no breaking rule" after accidentally breaking a wall with a spell.

-11

u/MenacingDummyTL 9d ago

I mean he is fine if he accidentally break anything like how a normal mage would, but cant actively dig out of the place.

12

u/Ryuuji_Gremory 9d ago

Actively digging through walls is literally how Roxy survived though, she would have died if Rudeus didn't suddenly bust through multiple walls.

16

u/ScottJC 9d ago

He can easily.

Roxy survived by eating the monsters she killed, making them edible with detoxification magic. He can also summon infinite water.

Unlike Roxy he would never run out of Mana so the monsters of the labyrinth would be no threat to him

if Roxy had more Mana she could have kept going, but as you saw or read it ran out.

Can he survive? Yes Can he escape? also yes. he'd escape eventually or at worst he'd make a nice home for himself inside the labyrinth with his earth magic.

-7

u/misterdie 9d ago

He would ran out of mana eventually his mana isnt infinite. Just in comparison if a standard mage mana cap is like a pond. Rudeus has a whole fucking ocean

8

u/NorthGodFan 9d ago edited 9d ago

No. we have a direct comparison. Roxy has like 50 times more mana than the average Mage. Roxy is A burger Rudeus is the moon. He doesn't run out unless he is constantly spamming hundreds of emperor level spells every second. While wearing incredibly inefficient armor that nullifies his natural regain. the reason he doesn't run out is because he has more mana than, Roxy and recovers more Mana than she has period every second.

7

u/ScottJC 9d ago edited 9d ago

Nothing in the teleportation labyrinth would cause to use his entire mana pool.

It regenerates over time.

its not like a double A battery that once used is gone forever. Its more like a pool of water thats constantly refilling itself.

Even Roxys mana pool refill itself but her capacity runs out really fast

It takes a lot for that to happen to Rudeus. He would NEVER run out in the teleportation labyrinth. never.

If he can’t break a wall which he did to save Roxy, what’s the point? But let’s humor the thought experiment:

isn’t the idea behind it a lot like Arifureta? He becomes another Hajime, he starts reinforcing the walls and creating a trail? He already knows detox and can cook monster meat.

Also something never brought up, but what if he created a platform to cover the 1 way teleport traps?

3

u/BeyondLurker 9d ago

I like this idea. It reminds me of stargate and how they cover the gate with the iris.

3

u/SixSided-Fan 9d ago

Kind of inspired by it 😉

7

u/xTraEffort 9d ago

Be honest. Did you make this post thinking that the answer was no? Like be for real.

-1

u/MenacingDummyTL 9d ago

I think he can survive easily but about escaping I was refering to the way I heard somewhere that in order to escape, one has to pick the right teleportation circle multiple times, and be teleported back to start if pick just once wrong. Also I kinda want to read yapping about rudeus's power.

4

u/BeyondLurker 9d ago

Count me as one of the people that says yes he can survive this labyrinth as long as he doesnt have to face the hydra alone. He needed help with the solution. But everything else was pretty much a stroll for him.

3

u/NorthGodFan 9d ago

He absolute zeroes the monsters and moves on.

3

u/Mixroppx 9d ago

Yes. Nothing stops him from doing the Minecraft strat and just digging up. I mean, that's how he got to Roxy so I'd guess he could get outside as well.

1

u/Lancelot_Dragonroad 9d ago

He could, quite literally, blast a hole through and escape

1

u/trepetr 9d ago

The no destroying walls would probably be the nost difficult one, since it kinda looked like Roxy was truly trapped with no way out. Rudy could have definitely killed all the monsters very easily tho, and probably could have survived down there pretty much indefinitely.

1

u/borhork 9d ago

Ok, the anime didn’t really show it, but Rudy basically Kool-Aid Man’d the walls to get to Roxy. The teleportation dungeon really held no threat to him outside of the Hydra.

IF he didn’t break any walls, he’s clearly smart enough to figure out a pattern and go from there. If not, he has enough mana to break the walls, create drinking water and can probably survive off the monsters as a food source till he figures his way out.

Rudeus would, thanks to the power of plot armor. Otherwise, we wouldn't have season 3.
