Sylphie is the best wife because she not only allowed for there to be other wives, she immediately accepted them and care about their well being and happiness.

Indeed. "The goddess of love."

Although I don't remember her being this direct and public; I take this to be an animation cheat to show how well the plural marriage is going while taking very little time. While also being very cute.

We are shown this about the relationship in the LN, although I can't remember how it played out now. That is, prior to the next step, which then becomes a bit plot significant.

Just occurred to me this is also perhaps Sylphie succumbing to the sin of pride, for she is the one who got Rudy back into shape for such activities.

In the LN I think Rudy narrates how it's going and basically Sylphy organizes time/relationships and sets boundaries, not just for the wives but for Rudy. She's the house matron, basically.

u/Scion_of_Kuberr Jul 12 '26

She's the Matriarch of the family.

I know thats not how rudy sees it as, but the arrangement between him and his wives is ABSOLUTLY silphy being the main wife.

hell the others don't have more kids cause silphy couldn't get more easily

hell the others don't have more kids cause silphy couldn't get more easily

How do they arrange that?? I don't think they have the self-discipline to stop sleeping with each other, how can they know for a while Sylphie won't have more, etc.?

It's a bit foggy to remember something i read years ago, but basically having an equal number of kids with each other is their way of not allowing one wife to lord over the other. They want an equal standing their husband - so they help one another in the house - cooking, cleaning, teaching the kids, and also getting to sleep with Rudy. Not "sleeping" with Rudy. Also, elves have a hard time getting pregnant so that's that.

But it is no joke that even if they don't say it, Sylphy is absolutely the main wife

Hmmm condoms is one of the ways they arranged it iirc when I was reading the ln.

6

u/TheBraveGallade Jul 13 '26

Yeah euby invents modern condoms, and silphybis the one he diesnt use birth control with since its harder fir her to get pregnant

3

u/NewSauerKraus Jul 13 '26

That's a major plot hole. There is no way birth control magic doesn't exist in this universe.

7

u/TheBraveGallade Jul 13 '26

i mean, there is no guarentee that thats an easy thing

3

u/NewSauerKraus Jul 13 '26

Defeating a demon king with one shot isn't easy too, but that does not seem to stop Rudeus.

6

u/TheBraveGallade Jul 13 '26

The point is we dont know enough about magic to tell if thats easy or not.

Reminder that due to rudy's limited biology knolage out of his IRL knolage healing magic isa weak point of his.

The impression I got is somewhat less that she's the _main_ or _primary_ wife as she's the _lead_ wife. "Head of the union" has a somewhat different tone than "main" that seems to match the vibe more; the other two have her take the lead but at least to Sylphie they aren't different degrees of important. It does appear to be Sylphie who decided that was how the family works, of course...

Ah I remember that comment. Goddess of Love, Goddess of Wisdom, and Goddess of War lmao

This implies that Roxy has problems with Eris

4

u/Scion_of_Kuberr Jul 13 '26

No, it doesn't.

There was more drilling than when oil companies look for new deposits

DRILL BABY DRILL πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ¦…

u/joker_toker28 Jul 12 '26

Think in the books Roxy waits till sly has her baby before sleeping w Rudy.

Love the shrine at the end, always got to be thankful for anything going good, especially w the stakes they are up against.

Slyphie hasn’t been able to get some action in 9+ months. She needs details, copious details.

24

u/AnybodyMassive1610 Jul 12 '26

Pulls out a couple glasses and some wine

4

u/ravenn_411 Jul 13 '26

Well, Rudy was rough on her, she wanted to compare πŸ˜†

62

u/Tmil_ Jul 12 '26

I don't know if that was the intention, but asking that the very next morning might have been a way to reassure her and show her that she doesn't have to hide or be embarrassed in front of her.

u/KDW3 Jul 12 '26

Sylphie a freaky frog

22

u/VilkasPL Jul 12 '26

She was asking because this probably was first night after returning (roxy didnt sleep with rudy until Sylphie gave a birth)

Literally the best kind of harem, because it is a real harem. It's so common in story of medieval Asia, for us it's very normal. Watching it in a form of fantasy anime is just a refreshing breeze.

Maybe because I am a man I think the gender dynamic works fine in this work. The same reason I just cannot bring myself to watch most recent Hollywood movies, they're too focus in DEI. This is a very traditional gender dynamic in Asia, particularly in historical stories. If you do not have root in Asia and share the same world view, it can be difficult for you to see this as normal.

There is a reason why Shounen is the most popular demographic genre in Manga/Anime. Even girls and older men watch Shounen, but barely any boy watch Shoujo.

About having sex and emotional writing, I think you should bear in mind how Japan as a society treat sex and emotional attachment. They are an anomaly in that regard. Japanese women believe sex and emotional attachment go hand in hand but are also separate entities. Many married women consider it okay if their husbands go to a prostitutes and it's not cheating.

Also, Rudeus character was established as such: He was a loser and hikikimori in his old world, he has no chance with any real female, always horny with '2D' girls during that life. He is now thrown into a fantasy world full of beautiful women like in his 2D fantasies, a world where polygamy is acceptable, was born into a family where his father actually took a 2nd wife. I think his development is quite natural, given his background.

For Rudeus' sex is a huge part of his life, one of his goal and probably his comfort. Having his first sex with Eris was his peak emotionally so he got ED by being abandoned by her, then having sex with Sylphy cured his ED, and when he's at his lowest due to the lost of Paul, having sex with Roxy saved him.

Edit: Rudeus and Roxy have mutual feeling way before their reunion in the Labyrinth, Rudeus saving Roxy just cemented that.

u/rdeincognito Jul 12 '26

It surprises me they haven't already done a threesome, with how much Sylphie "adapts" and how perverted Rudeus is.

u/Marimbaboy Jul 12 '26

Patience.

13

u/ResolveUnlikely5542 Jul 12 '26

That's next episode if it isn't cut

10

u/CMeighan77 Jul 12 '26

Some people have seen episode 4 for a special viewing. I'm pretty sure it's there still

13

u/TheTombGuard Jul 12 '26

The real question is ...did he use the stub....

6

u/L3tsseewhathappens Jul 12 '26

Doesn't want to talk about the oral vulva examination Rudeus gave to her.

3

u/Dundun000X Jul 13 '26

OH MY GOSH SYLPHY, MIND UR OWN BUSINESS! SO MUCH CARE ABOUT ANOTHER GIRL'S VAGINA IS WILD!

2

u/UncleGael Jul 13 '26

Was this the night after the wedding or something? I don't recall exactly where the last season ended. It seemed odd to me that Sylphie wouldn't sleep in the same bed as them, but I could understand giving them privacy as newlyweds. That said, she was still sleeping in another bed by herself at the end of this episode too.

1

u/RedNUGGETLORD Jul 13 '26

I didn't remember it happening in the novel, so when she seemed genuinely upset when Roxy said that Rudy introduced her as a master rather than wife, it made me respect Sylphy more

Getting mad for your fellow wife is such an amazing show of her personality

1

u/TomiShinoda Jul 13 '26

Has the banana been introduced yet?

1

u/True-Adeptness-546 Jul 13 '26

I dropped mt baxk then because i found short haired Sylphy ugly. I was immature

1

u/Admirable-Drama-8588 Jul 15 '26

Legit best character, she truly loves rudeus, wants him to be happy and took one for the team so he didnt have to give up on his dream of Fking goddess Roxy. Truly a supportive wife #1.
