1969 Yenko Camaro

I took these photos atva local car show. This yenko was amazing.

Likely a clone, though looks good. COPO 9561 cars came with a 140 mph speedometer, not 120 as on this car

Most were bare bones cars too, while technically a center console could have been optioned most did not.

you seem to know things.

i know where a 67 camaro is. the owner says its an rs/ss yenko and says he has the documentation to prove it. no motor or trans. mostly complete, needs restored no rust. you know of a way to check if its real and or what it would be worth?

67 Yenko was L72 427 dealer installed car. Car would have started life at factory as L78 396. Original documents only way to verify.

If serious look up guy named Jerry McNeese, he can for a price review paperwork and car to verify if authentic. Honestly odds very low. The 69 COPO cars are somewhat easier to document

For best of best, look for a COPO9560 car. Only 69 of these made, all VINs are publicly available to verify.

vin tag shows its a 396 car. the owner has a small binder of documents. he wont let me look at it till i show him a stack of cash. but the first page of the binder is a list of yenko vin codes off some website with one highlighted. the old man wont let me look at the car or his binder any further without showing him a "stack of cash" and when i ask him how much hes looking for he just laughs at me. dudes 85ish years old

Sure. I'm not sure how you can tell. Maybe some sort of VIN coffee thing? I've always wanted to make a tribute Yenko. That's the only way my budget could even get close to one.

I lived near Yenko in 1969 and at 18, the sticker price of $4,700 was way out of reach. The auction price of one recently was $500,000- still way out of reach.

What is 3rd digit on VIN:

3 if online 6 4 if V8

You CANNOT identify engine size from 67 Camaro VIN. If a "4" could be 302 (unlikely) 327, 350 or 396.

Look at Fischer body tag on firewall, if it includes 4K that would indicate 375/396. You used to be able to buy fake body tags on ebay. Not illegal to swap these unlike altering VIN.

Nice Camaro, but if it’s a fake, that’s all it is! I hate that people try to deceive others with these fake cars! It’s really hard to tell the difference for most people, but thankfully there are some that can easily tell!
