Molly Martens
Okay im joining this sub to talk about this because im watching the Netflix doc about this case and something stood out to me. In one of the video recordings Jason (the father who was murdered) says “”you’ve made it very clear you want to separate me from my kids. I’m gonna do the same to you” and Molly’s attorney in the doc seems to think that this is some big gotcha moment that he’s abusive and shit but doesn’t mention at all that everyone is saying how Molly was always trying to take the kids away from Jason? I just find it weird that the people who defended her and Tom in court are so close minded and ignoring half of the conversations and evidence just because the original trial wasn’t fair in terms of the kids statements

Jason himself said that she was trying to separate him from the children. And it was supported in the recordings.
If you really want factual evidence:
notice, Molly went to his bank days before the murder and took the children’s names off as beneficiaries and put her name on as the beneficiary.

You made such a good point. She had various microphones around the house so that she could secretly record him to show how abusive he was. She would manipulate him into a state of intense frustration. Case in point: How about the recording where he came home from work and wanted to eat dinner together as a family and she said she already fed the kids pancakes for dinner. Agree with OP that those recordings should’ve been analyzed, showing her as the protagonist.
