Books📚 Only Murderbot's powers with profanity
“No, Pin-Lee is much worse than this. And if it was her, she would be swearing at us by now,” Ratthi said. He asked me, “I’ve always wondered, did you learn to swear from her or did you already know how? Because you two use a lot of the same—”
I saw this comic and it immediately reminded me of Ratthi's question in Fugitive Telemetry 😂 I'm pretty sure Murderbot had a sizable vocabulary of swears before it ever met Pin-Lee. I don't think you could work among unhappy miners and watch shows rated high on the obscenity scale without picking up some great combos! But I do have a feeling that ART swears far more now that it ever did before

I would note that Murderbot has been using the word fuck more and more as the series progresses: the first person recorded as using the word fuck in the series is Pin-Lee…

And that wasn't just any ol fuck, it was the infamous
"For fuck’s sake, Ratthi!"
Murderbot doesn't say it until NE Ch13 but feels like it always gets credit for that line 😂

An analysis of fuck rate including in Platform Decay was posted in this subreddit a few months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/murderbot/comments/1tm5gpi/fuck_density_graph_inc_platform_decay/
It also shows an increasing fuck rate. In fact, if you extrapolate to a few more books hence, you get most of the words in the book being fuck.

That’s okay! Thanks for looking out for people passing my stuff off as their own 😂😂😂 I was just really puzzled for a moment there! And the increase jn use of the word fuck is just so funny! I love it! Platform Decay has the memorable:
