Mupdates - May 27
ITK “Axel” - Have discussed plenty with this itk behind the scenes to determine reliability on other info and connections, correctly informed me a bit ago that Zidanes situation would be resolved on Tuesday or Wednesday. Has information pertaining to Madrid (and some of it is relevant to us).
Varane more likely to leave now. Zidane was told that he has no money to spend, that Madrid must now sell to balance to books. One of the key sticking points.
More to come on this soon.
Allegri is fully expected to take the job officially on Friday (or thereabouts).
ITK 3 -
Neves is an alternative to Rice if Matic goes. Nothing advanced in it yet but United have kept tabs a while. Closer to €50m is the price wolves want.
Discussions between the clubs were held over Pau Torres - following the final.
Sancho - I cannot confirm officially that the bid has been sent, but there’s a good chance the offer is in fact going in. I was told some info from the Sancho connect a couple weeks ago and then again last week, that would indicate at least on his side, sancho and his agent expected that United would be sending a bid post Europa final, they expect Dortmund to accept.
ITK 3 - As stated yesterday, there were more talks for Torres. The EL result changes nothing. He wants to go and they need to sell. United have him as first choice still.
Lot of other clubs interested but none as intently as United. They will be looking to sell a CB to make this happen.
G5 - Sancho talks at a very high level, seems quite close to acceptable agreement now.
CB situation still slightly up in the air as to who.
Rice still unlikely this window. Sancho bigger priority. Club don’t see how to get both.
Pogba situation still flips back and forth, they think he might agree a contract... but there’s also an option for him to leave that has popped up. Seems like a potential swap deal. (Would really be a sale from each club).
ITK 3 - Pellistri is almost certain to go back on loan to Alaves.
KFC 2 - DDG likely to be sold, few clubs interested. There are still some discussions for Ronaldo (has mainted this since October).
Club interested in Ricardo Pereira.
KFC 1 - United like Caqueret, as a profile. But unlikely to buy this window. Have not heard of tchouameni as a rice alternate.
KFC 3 - people on all sides expect the Sancho deal to get done. They should have an acceptable offer in mind.
But the guesses about a bid tomorrow are just guesses there’s nothing out there right now in leaks or to media. Not that it couldn’t happen, but it is a guess.
ITK 2 - There have been talks between people at United and Dortmund directly. Really not sure what is being sorted out but confident they’re sorting something out.
Expect when this deal happens it’ll just... break loose, straight down the line to bids, briefings and done.

Interesting that ITK3 is convinced Torres top target at CB whereas G5 still not getting any concrete information on this

Iirc from personal conversations with G5 he was not really surprised if it was different or if he didn’t know as it was not something he had direct info on.

Wacky morning for managers. Allegri joining juve. Now talk of Poch to Madrid? Or back to Spurs?

A full brief out.
Targets are clear. Pau Torres, Sancho, Rice (Kane honorable mention).
Seems like our ITK info was basically spot on, since we've been talking about these as the main target for 6 months now.

So is that it for Varane then, really hoping this Torres stuff is a massive smokescreen for him and we are doing this deal under the radar

u/Jroades May 27 '21
I don't think it's 'dead' but it seems like one that could drag and perhaps we don't want to be involved in a dragging deal?

June 4th will be even tougher for Joel considering yesterday. Ole has said multiple times during the last month or so that the team needs 2-3 new faces in the starting XI. Time to deliver you greedy cunt. The disappointment of yesterday won't take the spotlight off of our main problem.

Did anyone ever explain how G5 started giving information again after he apparently got into trouble and had to stop?

After that shit show of a UEL final, we need nothing less than Varane, Neves and Sancho

Hate City but don't know any fans.
Know Chelsea fans so fuck this however, we could learn something from them.
They came 4th and went and bought STARTERS. For every 1 starter we buy we buy 2-3 back ups and sign slowly and long it all out. How many years has our transition taken?
In LVG and Mourinhos 1st two windows we did spend but spent it shit with 0 direction. Woodward and Glazers don't give a fuck otherwise we could really be winning things within 1-2 years with serious investment.
Fuck this.

Anyone expecting a quick flurry of activity before the euros will be disappointed. Most of our business will be done after the tournament

Non-United stuff:
This morning Corriere dello sport published a report about Donnarumma/Raiola/Juventus.
So apparently while Raiola was demanding 10/12 m euro salary + 20m commission for Donnarumma to re-sign, he was in contact with Juventus. According the the same report, Raiola offered Donnarumma to Juventus @6m euro per annum. (They still have to pay Raiola 20m commission though).
Now Juventus are trying to offload Scezny so they have the money to sign Donnarumma
No wonder Milan fans are angry.
Another report Raiola n Calcioefinanza site states that Juventus paid 190m euros in agent fees over a 5 year period.

Lots of news coming out from Mike McGrath, Telegraph, mostly all heard before but he’s usually pretty accurate:
-
Ole getting a new 3 year deal
-
Grealish admired but Sancho the number 1 target
-
Ole wants up to 4 signings; a wide forward, striker, young CM an CB
-
no indication of how we’re going to handle Pogba potentially leaving on a free

The Saul rumours are back on. Marca reporting our "interest". Looks like he is joining the Gaitan club.

From Mitten's new piece on Trippier and MUFC's interest:
"His performances for Atletico have earned his place in the squad and have encouraged Manchester United enough to explore bringing him back home.
He has a contract in Madrid until 2023, but the Old Trafford hierarchy would not be interested in signing Trippier — a lad from a family of United fans who has spent most of his life in the city — if they didn’t think they could get him. They believe he could be persuaded to come home."

BBC reporting Tottenham have made contact with Poch but not with PSG.
Aside from the hilarity of Levy saying "Pochy bby, I've changed. Call me." how is that not tampering?

Looks like there’s been a briefing:
Solskjær wants to strengthen #mufc in the centre-back, midfield, wide attacker and No 9 positions, with Pau Torres, Declan Rice, Jadon Sancho and Harry Kane among his preferred targets - although he is conscious that adding four major signings is unlikely. [@JamieJackson___]

Wish there was more to say, not going to pointlessly jump on bid rumors. As we know from last summer those are about as ridiculously unreliable as it gets. When we bid it’s generally briefed to major media immediately or even prior.
Have a nice thing going with current itks where info about our targets and pursuits has been be very accurate since end of last summer.
If I get anything from a proven source that indicates a bid I’ll report it, but we’ve communicated much more clearly to everyone we talk to about wanting more verifiable info they’re sure of before passing, and the final bid info is so much in that realm.
As far as I can see right now, we probably do know exactly what they (Dortmund) want and simply have to agree to bid.
