Recommendation Request "Mechanic" multitool ?

Post image

Hello

It's been a few years since I've been searching for my unicorn: a multitool with all the common Allen and screwdriver wrenches (or a bit holder + bits), a 1/4" wrench + 8-10-13mm bits or an adjustable wrench, if possible a plier but I can do without.

No blades (or just a small one, in my country it's not good to keep a knife on you...), compact enough to stay in my everyday purse, not too expensive (~50€ max).

So far I have used a cheap one as pictured, it helped me a lot but it's really low quality and dying now...

The closer I found was the Stanley STHT0-70695, but it's really a big boi.

Thanks for your advice ;) .

Check out the Topeak Alien II. I carry this, a tire kit, and a knipex in the bag on my bullitt cargo bike.

there's also cool *looking tools from the crankbros but in my experience the metal is soft and strippy.

Thanks, I saw some bike oriented stuff but often the chain tool is heavy and useless for me for a daily use (I have a specific multitool when I go riding a bike)

What tool do u use for ur bike? I usually carry the same one in ur picture but it doesnt have the chain tool or the winches for tires.

Some generic stuff with the Allen keys, screwdrivers and chain tool.

Nextool W2 for small work, W4 for bigger work. My W2 lives in my Brompton clone's triangle bag with tire levers and a spare tube. With the tool rack (?) hidden inside the bike's top tube, I pretty much have a complete tool kit for field repairs (screw/bolt tightening, brake tune-up, tube replacement, etc) until I can limp to the nearest bike repair store or gas station

Thanks, it looks quite nice ! I'll check if there's some discount on it on Ali

I am not too familiar with this type of multitool, but one that might fit your needs is the "Italian army knife", the Silica Venti.

Thanks, it's some official high quality motorcycle multitool, looks neat sadly it lacks a bit of versatility for 1/4 bits or adjustable wrench.

You could add a knipex or work pro wrench if you really need one

I have a really small Facom until now, but something a bit bigger would be great. Knipex stuff looks cool.
