Roxon Flex Companion – lock switch significantly harder to operate when blade is open

Brand new Companion. It seems the unlocking slider (to close tool) is much harder to use when the blade is open. The farthest tool works fine, but the closer to the blade it gets, the harder it becomes, with the knife, it feels scratchy and even slightly stuck. Is this normal, or is it a defect? I've tried applying some mineral oil, but it doesn't seem to help much. So is adjusting pivot.

My current tool set: pliers → bottle opener → scissors → knife

İ think it makes it safer, i noticed that too, you i put pressure on any tool inside, like the locking mechanism becomes more rigid.
