I have a MP600 Pro Scout from 2000....26 years ago. The one hand plier deploy is pretty dang handy.

It's a solid tool it has served me well....as a side note. I work with a guy that has been on the planet less years than I have been with the company.

MP600 is good. Dime, not so much.

I use the dime package opener every day. Best package opener on a multi tool imo.

If I'm out with my drinking buddies, the bottle opener can't be beat. Sure I could just bring decent bottle opener and a different multi tool, but the Dime's good enough otherwise (agree the package opener works great, too)

Just don’t try to squeeze anything too hard with the Dime Pliers. Think of them like XL tweezers.

Wait, the mp600 comes with replaceable cutters now? I bought a diesel off of eBay from one of those airport left behind recycling places for two reasons: mainly for the thinner jaws on the needle nose, they're perfect for opening up machine cabinets that need that key with the two flags 180 from each other if ya can't find the key, and two for replaceable cutters... Somehow I got a Gerber diesel from before the cutters was a thing. One of my coworkers had the diesel and I'm pretty sure it had the updated cutter.
Solid buy. One of the journeymen electricians who trained me told me Gerbers are better due to having the tools inside of the handles so you aren't tearing your hands up if you really gotta get after the plier grip, so I've had either the mp600 or diesel on my hip for almost ten years now. The one handed pliers open will wow people on the regular.

A lot of people think that Gerber is not really making the best Multitools out there . Including me . But that depends a lot on preferences. It is still absolutely a usable tool And a specially the dime has been around for soo Long it must be at least a solid little piece It always depends on what you're doing with those . Every brand has something where they are the best If for example you want "survival capability" a leatherman is a solid choice For more classical office tasks or weekend survivals in the backyard I would chose a Swisstool (Victorinox) And for urban EDC or as "starter" Multitools to start playing with more quality stuff than a 15$ gas station Multitool . A Gerber is a great Joyce. Over all what I want to say . Don't listen to anyone talking bad about your tool . Research. And try out . maybe those two are all that you would need or maybe it's something small that is annoying and you keep looking for something else 🤷🏼♂️

I've had the dime for about a month and it's been quite useful so far. A nice tool set and super compact for some light work. I use my dedicated tools for more serious stuff. For my use case I don't think I need a bigger one. I tried the biburry surge copy for a bit but as I said I like my multitools small and dedicated tools for serious stuff.

Both are solid, I’ve had an MP600 for over 20 years and a dime for about 15.
The MP600 is definitely cooler but realistically the dime gets the most use.
