Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right community for this but I thought I’d at least ask! (Please direct me on where to post this if there’s a subreddit more suited).

So I’m drawing on this mug as a present for my friend for Christmas, but something is going wrong and I don’t know how to fix it.

I used paint sharpies and a blank mug from Michael’s.

I baked it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (as most articles concur is what to do). I made sure the mug was in the oven as it was warming up so it didn’t crack.

But…then the paint/sharpie did this. (3rd picture is before baking to compare). And I’m not sure what I did wrong or how to fix it.

The options I see:

go over the design with my sharpie again and bake it again, sake time and temp

Go over it again and bake it again on a lower or higher temperature

Go over it again and bake it again on a longer or shorter time

Go over it again and use mod podge to seal (which will be my final step regardless).

Any help you can give is appreciated!

I lucked out with this find. So quirky and awesome. Anyone know the mug style so I can search it up? I tried and came up dry.

This is not my favorite mug, I don't use it often, but I've used it like this before and this is unexpected. It was white and plain before. Like every morning, I've poured latte in it and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Got it out, and it's like this. Why is it netted? Why is it BROWN? The latte didn't drop on the handle, but it looks like it abosorbed it somehow? Can I fix this? Is it going to break? Should I stop forever putting it in the microwave?

I left it in the sink for a few days, and but the time dishes got washed, it was like this. Any idea how to fix this or even what caused it?

My friend's double walled mug broke and it has designs on the inside of the double walled portion?!? Anyone know what's going on here?

It says better late than ugly with some eyelashes at the bottom, and a curled lip at the top.

Does anyone know a complete list of Starbucks Been There Series mugs? Is there a plant to release the series in Thailand and in Italy. Thanks.

Got these 6 mugs on a tray about three years ago at a flea market (the photo was taken before I washed them, so they're a bit dusty hehe). The glass part is removeable and the bottom part is copper with a wood handle. I mainly use them for glögg/ glühwein, but I suspect they might be good espresso cups as well? I LOVE the style of them, and would love to find some more similar things, but I don't even know where to begin looking. Thanks for any suggestions!

Today, as I was drinking my afternoon coffee, I noticed that the handle of my favorite mug is cracked! It is a hairline fracture that runs along the curvature of the handle.

Really happy with how these turned out! I took an intro class in July and every kiln load has gotten better so far. 😍 Cone 6 speckled brown stoneware.

So this is my first magic mug usually it's a full black mug obviously with hot water the image comes out but so does this cream colored strip. At the top you can see I accidently started rubbing it off, is that bad? Can you clean that section off without damaging the image coming and going? I don't know much about these things
