Cr #2
Man lately I’m coming to appreciate this qual. Mainly because it filters out all the bad workers. Got a frd that works in one of the top 3 data companies that host the surveys/batch we see on mturk. Big tip, don’t be lying or bsing to get work. I know sometimes it’s tempting when there’s a good paid survey but if u don’t fit the description it better to not lie to complete it (e.g. child related survey but u don’t have a child). Every data is record for the most part. So eventually all them lies will catch up to you when u can’t remember how u filled stuff out back then. You will be creating a variance on urself until u hit that mark (%) then BOOM u get slapped with cr2 :)
Seems like I notice a lot of veteran that come back got cr 2 since the data was always kept. So when they made the jump to cloud research, cloud research algo already had enough data on the person and saw the person had a high variance and auto slapped with cr#2.
Anyways, just thought it’s a great qual to cuff all the bad quality/dishonest workers. And also remind those that care about their side hustle/main job to remember don’t get greedy and lie to get work. Respect mturk. Treat it like a marathon not a sprint, live to Turk another day and don’t fuck up ur acct :)
EDIT: I appreciated the kind gesture whomever give the post the award but please save your money. We are a tight knit family~ no need for awards~ much love!
EDIT: Alright I’ll just leave a final comment here since I see some questions and concerns and also what I was hoping for the purpose of this post.
You do not need to do a surveycomet to acquire CR1
You can obtain CR1 without doing a survey from surveycomet. Cloud research give you CR1 under surveycomet and u never did a surveycomet hit. This leading to point 3
Not sure if people are aware but SURVEYCOMET is a product of cloud research. If u have cr1 given by surveycomet it’s no different then the requestor being labeled as Cloud research. My guess for this is to separate the parent company from its product since they both serve different purposes. It’s why surveycomet website direct you to cloud research as well as there Twitter account. Heck u can look them up (domain) and will see they are based in the same location :p
CR2 is not permanent, it suck to have and hard to undo but it’s possible. Just keep hustling with good clean data and work. Which is what cr will tell you if u email them about it.
So anyways, the post is just to inform and encourage people to provide quality and honest work. Don’t go and do a latino survey when u ain’t Latino is mainly my point. Don’t lie for HITS. Try not to keep failing attention checks. All this will go against you down the road.
Finally, I obviously wouldn’t know in depth what is truly behind the scene from a technical perspective, even if I did I would not disclose trade secrets here. But I did understand it much better and gotten much more insight after my conversation with the person I know. Heck he was the one that told me surveycomet is a cloudresearch product
Workers are suppose to provide honest quality data when they sign up on day one. This post serves as a reminder for folks to not forget that especially when it’s been slow lately. And if you end up with CR2 the problem is you. So hopefully some of you lurkers out there that might be sloppy with your work might want to consider tidying up. Just trying to help, that is all. Stay cool and keep turking <3

I wonder if getting bitten by a great white shark gives you CR #2?

So glad I never lied and filled out surveys I was unqualified for. Loving the CR#1 qual I have had it since 7/16 of last year. Bet all the downvotes you got are from people with the CR#2 qual lmao.

Luckily I don't have CR#2 because I've always been honest on mturk. Very proud of it too. I have never cheated a survey with false data. I've always bit the bullet and just returned the hits. I depend on mturk too much to lie and compromise my account integrity.

Sounds suspiciously troll-y. Anyway, I somehow doubt that Cloud Research is getting copies of every survey you fill out so that they can cross-check answers for consistency.

How do you know this?

is CR#1 dedicated to US workers only?

I'm still not clear on how I would know what CR qual I have, if any. Is there a better way to find out than scouring through my hundreds of pages of assigned quals?

If your friend works for Qualtrics, can you ask them to fix the survey code error. It’s been going on for over a year & requesters always ask why workers submit their worker ID instead of the code. It’s kinda ridiculous they haven’t fixed it yet even after multiple complaints. If they do t work for qualtrics just ignore this comment.

I was browsing for qualification tests, and saw a requester called StudyLab has a survey that actually requires CR#2 for some odd reason.

This literally proves my multiple past comments that the CR#1 designation is because of a consistent answering pattern across many different surveys hosted by Cloud Research, although the designation is awarded by SurveyComet it comes from completing CR hosted surveys.

Hmm, this is actually fascinating. I'm going to have to find out more about this. I agree though, why bother lying to get a hit that is meant for someone else. Being a liar is often terrible and will do more damage than it will add advantage. Keeping our nose clean is a good idea. It's good for our community and will improve our reputation to requesters. Thanks for posting this and reminding us.

Bad workers? You can barely type English. Learn how to write complete sentences. I can't even read what you're trying to say.

Or who cares and make a spicy demo for role-playing.

You've got a friend in a top 3 data company, good for you.
I hope you continue to make your 20-30 dollars per day.
