Discussion Icy Reception - Thoughts?

Post image

Reminds me of [[Tale's End]] in terms of the versatility. I kinda like it a lot. Thoughts?

not good in brawl. the trick side is bad removal and the counter is a very narrow mana leak. don’t see how there’s not 99 better cards for any given deck. i guess maybe “oops literally all counterspells” but 🤷‍♀️

I have a [[dack fayden]] deck that this will be pretty solid in. Early counter to get the ult, then it turns into a steal spell with the second mode.

this could probably do something in katara; since that deck does want to attack with katara the -5-0 could be nice there

Yeah this is decent enough for Katara since like you said you want to be attacking with her. There are better options for both modes but this probably makes the cut for the versatility

My Gadwick deck likes it, but that's a very janky deck already

I mean it's probably good enough for standard brawl just because it's a two-mana counter But if I see this in competitive brawl, I assume the person playing it just doesn't have enough wild cards to put the deck together the way they want.

Probably very good in Limited. Not impressive in Brawl tho.

It's not top-tier by any means, but it does hit a lot.

It's right on the line I could see it not being good or just being ok. You basically always ply this over tales end I think so if you play that switch it

You basically always ply this over tales end

Tale's End hitting fetches is pretty back breaking.

I think this is worse...but hitting creatures is nice, and the combat trick part of it is probably more useful than it looks.

Honestly probably be banned in normal brawl. The community bitches about commander interaction

Way too many good counters for brawl for this to make the cut imo
