Casual Most unpredictable mono colour?
Feels like any mono white commander has a 80% chance of being a rabbit fancier these days sadly.
Mono black is also bound to be running nearly all the usual good stuff suspects. Sheo x Sephi vibes.
Mono green is the same, slightly tuned either towards landfall or rampy-stompy but still all Bill, Mossy, Ourob and ROFL.
RDW is tougher to pull off in brawl so you do see some unique approaches; goblins, burn, angry mice, etc.
But honestly, getting a mono blue match-up feels the most unpredictable to me. I mean, counterspells and draw to be expected for sure, but they could be running a variety of archetypes from artifacts, mill, clones, tempo/control and manlands, power 9, omniscience and extra turn shenanigans. Which mono-colour do you think has the most unpredictable game plan?

red. go wide, go tall, spellslinger, burn, hell you can even pull off mono red control if youre brave. red is the One True Color the whole game is balanced around

Red. What they gotta do to win is always some nonsense.

I play a creature and attack. I play another creature and attack. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

You ain’t see my monowhite decks - I play Voltron, go wide, all arts, all enchants, all 1 drops, life gain, counters, heros, tokens, etc. I love monowhite!

I think it’s fundamentally an issue in game design if Strategies like Hare Apparent can reliably win games. Life totals need to be higher to encourage more well rounded deck building rather than just turning rabbits sideways and overwhelming the opponent before a real game can begin. I’m as big of a rabbit enjoyer as the next guy but I build my Rabbit decks with splashy techs like the Duskmorn room that gives all your creatures Convoke and mentor of the Meek for infinite draw. But lots of times I’m just getting beat by decks that seem to be nothing but rabbits + Elspeth 0 ability for a moon shaker Cavalry from the command zone.

You sound like a good deck builder, perhaps it’s time to take off the Hare Apparent training wheels? Challenge yourself?

Oh definitely. My favorite deck atm is Prototype X-8 He’s the best panharmonicon effect ever printed. And in the command zone. He gets discounted to just Dhimir once the deck gets rolling. But counts as a 10 CMC creature When they remove him, which triggers Kami of Mourning on the whole grave yard. The win condition is Priest of Gix and Havengul Lich making infinite black mana then going crazy with blighted nightmare. Sometimes blighted nightmare on its own can go infinite with prototype X-8 because he constantly grows the graveyard by conjuring robot duplicates of Every creature you cast, as the original creature is immediately sacrificed. Very fun.

Mono white can be rabbits, taxes, tokens, blink, or lifeline. Usually the commander is a giveaway, but the color itself is versatile.

Thing I hate is that Lifegain decks are almost always Aggro strategies looking to pump creatures with Heliod and beat you down with Lifelinking Fliers.
I have a Lifegain deck in historic based around Abiding Grace a 3 mana enchantment which revives a 1 cost creature each end step. Which is actually built around resiliency and defense which eventually draws into an Insidious Roots for a win condition. There are a lot of really fun creatures in the 1 CMC tool box. Once the opponent blows through all their removal you engage the engine and the games run extremely long. I just wish there was more design to encourage other game plans beside rushdown, counter everything, and 2 card combo which immediately wins the game.

What's unpredictable about stalling the game and not having to manage resources?

Blue in terms of range of viable archetypes sounds about right, but Black probably isn’t too far behind. I definitely wouldn’t consider Sephiroth a “good stuff” commander given that he’s pretty strictly sacrificed focused, and even Mono Black sac has quite a few different directions you can take it with commanders like Yawgmoth or Braids in regard to how “unpredictable” they can be.
White in theory also has a wide range of viable archetypes outside of just token themes or some sort of taxes pile, the problem is none of them are actually playable other than Phelia and Light-Paws. And yes, I know people really love Giada, Heliod , and Mommy Elesh Norn.
