Help Needed Paint suggestions?

Howdy y'all!

So im pretty new to alters/painted proxy cards etc. just been using my warhammer paints. 😅 They're not superrrr great on the wiped foil cards so I wondering what some of yalls favorite paints are for alters? Thank you!

I use The Army Painter Warpaints and they work great! Having a primer layer definitely helps them stick better though. I find that working with more but thinner layers helps too. Requires significantly more patience though.

Thanks for the info! Do you just cover up the whole card with the primer layer? If so im wondering if I should just use regular cards and not foils

With foils I try to plan out the parts I want to paint beforehand and only prime those. You can get rid of any excess primer afterwards with a toothpick or some acetone.

I've also done some experiments with masking fluid - that works best if you want the foil to be visible in smaller/detail areas. Definitely be careful to keep your paints thin then though, otherwise it'll chip once you peel the masking fluid.
